Jeff Hardy Will Do Some Jail Time
Posted by Larry Csonka on 09.08.2011

- After numerous continuances, Jeff Hardy was in court today and pled guilty to two counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver a controlled substance and a single count of conspiracy to traffic in a substance containing opium, all felonies, pending from his September 11, 2009 arrest.

Hardy was sentenced to 10 days in jail, 30 months of probation and a $100,000 fine as a part of a plea deal that was reached. All other counts that were against Hardy were dropped, again due to the plea agreement reached.

Hardy's lawyer requested that Jeff be allowed to travel outside of North Carolina to work for TNA, and the request was granted.

He's only going to jail? Man.. I was hoping for prison. Imagine the epic brawl that would go down in there, ending with Jeff doing a swanton off the friggin balcony!

10 days. For charges that would have put a normal person in jail for decades.

Fuck the American "justice" system.

10 days?!? What a joke! Most guys in his situation get 2-5 years easily. Fuck Jeff Hardy. He sucks anyway.

What a joke. 10 days is not even a slap on the wrist, more like a slap on the finger. Sickening.

Shoulda thrown the book at him, if this had been any normal member of the public they'd be seeing 10 years.
Fucking justice system is pathetic!

Let him live the life he wants. As long as he wasn't putting anyone else in danger (unlike Kurt Angle), I'll never understand why drugs aren't legalized and taxed. It would actually pull us out of the debt our country is in.

Free Jeff Hardy.

10 days is about right for what he got charged for. Lengthy prison sentences for drug possession is stupid.

Him and his brother are rule-breaking trailer trash. His probation will be violated pretty quickly. The only whisper in the wind then will be T-Bagg waking Jeff in the middle of the night to finger Jeff's butthole with his penis.

Wow in and out of court for a few years, to leave with a slap on the wriste. He better smarten up ASAP an get his life together, before the system gets sick of him an starts giving him real punishments like any other person would get.

Its a shame TNA has to fire him now as he is a convicted felon.

Posted By: Guest#3337 (Guest)  on September 08, 2011 at 02:50 PM

So Jeff Hardy has stated for the court records that he was trafficking and was in possession of drugs with intent to sell.

Based on that statement - TNA should fire him. Any employer would fire him. TNA was nice enough to keep him on under the pretense of innocent until proven guilty. Hardy has admiteed he was guilty. He should be fired.

100k goes a long way, fellas. Most people that get charged with this sorta thing don't have that kinda money to throw into a plea agreement.

Hopefully Jeff realizes he's a lucky son of a bitch and learns from this. Sadly it wouldn't surprise anyone to see him in more trouble within the next couple of years.

That Judge must be a mark.

I do not understand why people seem to think jail or prison time is good for drug users. Getting them off the drugs offers a much better solution to the problem.

No - I am NOT a Jeff Hardy fan in any, way, shape or form but he needs to clean up his act before he kills himself!

Posted By: ynon (Guest)  on September 08, 2011 at 03:02 PM

Seriously??? I did 28 days in jail recently just because I owed fines. That plea agreement is bullshit of the highest order. Although I see him having trouble sticking to the probation if routine drug tests are involved, so he's likely to be back in jail soon. Must be nice to be "famous".....

Posted By: Diamond Raine (Guest)  on September 08, 2011 at 03:09 PM

he'll be out in 2. If they don't let him out for good behavior he'll swanton bomb through the wall.

Posted By: Guest#3262 (Guest)  on September 08, 2011 at 03:10 PM

A normal first time offender for these charges would get locked up with the rapists and murders for years. The American court system is a fucking joke.

Posted By: APrince66 (Guest)  on September 08, 2011 at 03:10 PM

And we all now see why the "right to a speedy trial" is rarely exercised. The longer it takes, the less harsh the punishment will be. If he could have delayed another year they may have given him a $1000 fine.

*slow Clap* Hey, do you what the only worse than a Cena hater is? A trolling John Cena apologist. On to the topic at hand, I was really expecting 30 - 90 days due to the amount of drugs he had on hand. I would hope he would seek rehab like TNA had requested but it seems the company is willing to take him back as is.

Here is new case law for drug dealers. Win win for defense attorneys, sad that this case has made a complete mockery of the judicial system at least in North Carolina. North Carolina' new slogan, "Drug dealers welcome."

10 days, really? Morgan Spurloch did 30 days, and because he was doing it for his fucking TV show! I was hoping to see him to some legit time, that way it'll straighten him out. Apparently I'm wrong.

Dear parents of TNA fans:
This is what your child is idolizing. If you do not become vocal and demand the company rid itself of an admitted drug user and trafficer, then do not be surprised to be visiting your children for the 5-10 year stretch taht they will get for "following their idol", but not being quite rich enough to buy their way out- your choice, and I bet my dollars to your pennies taht not a single one of you will open your yaps.

You either shoulda just paid your fines like a resonable member of society, or gotten a decent lawyer to represent you, you convicted sack of shit.

The only thing worse than a judgemental asshole, is a judgemental asshole who is pissed off because his jail time was more than someone else's.

Drug arrests are never about justice. It's all about the fine. Fine = money = revenue for the government.

He got virtually no jail time so he could work to pay the 100grand to the government. If they actually cared about his health they would send him to mandatory rehab for a year.

Actually this incident happened just AFTER he was released by WWE for refusing to get help for his addiction. I believe it was maybe a week after his release was announced.

He left the E in August 09, got arrested in September, and got hired by TNA in January 2010.

Hey Random

You do realize that Jeff got arrested for these charges AFTER he left WWE. His contract expired so WWE dodged that bullet. TNA brought him in and made him champion while he was awaiting trial.

Posted By: Guest#3978 (Guest)  on September 08, 2011 at 05:23 PM

30 months probation???? I'm willing to give 5 to 1 odds that he DOES NOT make it past 6 months on that and will be locked up for the remainder of his probation for violation of the terms. Once an addict, always an addict and he has had ZERO REHAB I'm sure. Probably been partying with the space cadet Matt (Capt Un-Employed.)

Posted By: Guest#7836 (Guest)  on September 08, 2011 at 06:07 PM

lol. He deserves it. But 10 days? fuck that shit. He'll overdose soon, no doubt. He also has probably learned nothing at all. Famous people get away with so much shit. If that were you or I, we'd be doing 10 years. And sadly Dixie will still use him. Wonder how Matt, his unofficial PR stooge, will spin this?

Posted By: Guest#1348 (Guest)  on September 08, 2011 at 07:09 PM

He'll be released in after hours for good behavior.

Posted By: Guest#4564 (Guest)  on September 08, 2011 at 07:11 PM

I want to know what the original sentence was. As in he got XXX amount of months with all but 10 days suspended. Because if all he got was 10 days sentence then that 30 month probation is useless. Unless he has time hanging over his head what does he care about probation? Unless NC has some screwed up Probation laws. But basically if he got unsupervised probation all he needs to do is live semi normal. Which may be very difficult for him. But unless there is some underlying jail time associated with any future offenses a probation violation conviction is a frigging joke.

The big question is - will TNA release Jeff Hardy for being found guilty of trafficking drugs? If they release his brothert for a much lesser crime surely they must release Jeff,right... ummm?

it is sad that a so called celebrity only gets 10 days in jail(not prison)when a normal person with the same charges would have gotten years in general population and caged like an animal.two big thumbs up for the american justice system

Go with prison (preferred) or rehab again (if you must) but this slap on the wrist is a joke.

And by the way, he'll be dead before long. It's a miracle he isn't dead already. Jails, institutions, and death await Jeff Hardy.

10 days. For charges that would have put a normal person in jail for decades.

Fuck the American "justice" system.

Posted By: Scott B (Guest) on September 08, 2011 at 02:20 PM

Actually, for a 1st time felony offender this is normal. Probation with 10 to 30 days local time for low level felonies, especially drug offenses. I agree that the justice system is fucked up, but that because we put conservatives in office who want to wage yet another losing war (this one against drugs, the others can be measured in damage to our economy and the out flow of our wealth to the rest of the world among other things.)

when Aaron Rodgers, Clay Matthews and the packers won the Superbowl, they celebrated with the WWE world title and not the TNA title. when the dallas mavericks won the NBA championship. Dallas Mavericks celebrated with the WWE title. and not the TNA title. every time someone thats not in wrestling wins something they celebrate with the WWE title and not the TNA title. u mad TNA marks? yea u mad…...

Shut up! We'd've been proud to celebrate with the TNA belt!!!

In this day and age...in the US...someone can literally BUY their way out of jail. Wow. Just wow.

"Seriously??? I did 28 days in jail recently just because I owed fines. That plea agreement is bullshit of the highest order. Although I see him having trouble sticking to the probation if routine drug tests are involved, so he's likely to be back in jail soon. Must be nice to be "famous"....."

No, unlike you, he has money.

10 days, psh, he'll be out in 8 with good behavior.

They finished the trial in under 2 years, I'm impressed. That's how long it seemed the OJ trial went on. Did I just betray my age?

I'm glad that shit's finally over with. Let's see if he cleans his act up or not. Hopefully this, and his brother's antics, will be a wake-up call.

Doesnt surprise me at all that he got only 10 days. I think most everyone knew that he would get litte or nothing in the way of jail time. What example does this set for the young people ? Hardy is a cocksucker and always has been. This also includes his spastic brother.

10 Days???? They won't even have enough time to rape that asshole.

Posted By: Guest#7644 (Guest)  on September 09, 2011 at 12:45 AM

Two things come of this:

1. Jeff Hardy as usual was able to use his celebrity to avoid a massive sentence
2. Whoever his lawyer is, if I ever have an issue I'm calling THAT guy.

Jeff: "Why yes, I did possess cocaine and did intend to earn money by selling opium."

Judge: "Well, for being so honest, instead of 10 years in prison you only get 10 days in jail and a slight fine."

Jeff: "Thank god for the justice system! *sniffffffffffffff*"

I guess its true what they say, don't let your crime be more than your wallet. He has a CONSPIRACY charge, that normally carries 10+ years, and he gets 10 DAYS in jail??? Yep, you can buy your way outta any crime, Hardy just proved it.

Not surprised tried in NC which is where most of the old timers settled when it was a territorial system I am sure that the whole thing was he is a good ole boy so to speak leave that wrassler alone. But the other thing is that famous people cost more to house in jail because frankly they cost more because of extra protection that any smart warden would put in place. Otherwise there would be constant attacks and finding him dead minus a benoit situation is bad for image of the institution.

jeff hardy is guilty.

Posted By: Guest#2182 (Guest) on September 08, 2011 at 02:40 PM
