Most of the TNA fans only became TNA fans cause of Hulk hogan. now with hogan leaving, a lot of TNA fans will stop watching TNA and thus TNA impact wrestling ratings will go down. TNA is in more trouble than i thought….. UFC and WWE > TNA.

they didn't even try to explain why HHH's comments were "stupid" and "ridiculous", come on UFC you can do better than that right?

But I kinda think Dana is missing the point HHH was making: That UFC could do a better job of marketing it's fighters (They're great at marketing UFC) and that the production could be better.
You never really get a feel for the electricity and atmosphere in the arena on TV.

sigh...there's no honor amongst men anymore is there? HHH's comments weren't that bad that Dana White had to come back and blow him up. He could have taken the high road and said something like "Well, we respect what they've done over the years and there's no doubt they are a tremendous marketing machine so we appreciate the feedback". Why does everything have to turn into a "bitch" fight in this society? Is it because of hip-hop culture? The world didn't used to be this stupid.

And that's why bringing Hogan in was such a bad idea. In the time he's been there, most of it has been to promote himself and his senior citizen friends. Had they used this time to have Hogan, Flair, Sting, etc make the younger talent look good, those fans would have remained.

I don't even like MMA so I'm not a fanboy or anything but that was probably the very best thing Dana White could have said.
Dana is smart and Triple H is stupid, but Dana's still keeping optimistic about Triple H's ability to grow the fuck up. I don't have that same optimism though.

Posted By: Guess001 (Guest) on September 21, 2011 at 05:18 PM
HHH was right when discussing how fights can be boring, that is absolutely true, but it can also be extremely exciting. Just like wrestling, when done correctly MMA is very fun to watch. And just like wrestling, MMA can be boring. The difference is when wrestling is boring, a lot of the time it is because of booking. When a MMA fight is boring, it only reflects that one fight, the next fight could be great. When wrestling is boring, usually every match and every show is boring because it is being planned by the same person. Any MMA fight can be exciting or boring, if wrestling has bad booking it is almost guaranteed everything will be bad.

Dana White doesn't mince words, and I respect him for that. He would have looked weak if he just mumbled off some pansy non-confrontational response. It's not like we're talking about the CEOs of Johnson & Johnson or Revlon here...these guys are the modern day PT Barnum.

Posted By: jaimz (Guest) on September 21, 2011 at 06:11 PM
Yeah, I think it'd pretty retarded that HHH thinks MMA fighters should cut promos. The fact that he can't see how clearly different MMA and pro wrestling are is pretty shocking.
Posted By: Yup. (Guest) on September 21, 2011 at 06:15 PM
Trips knows most fans who watched in the Attitude era are now MMA fans. Maybe if the WWE would up the intensity in the ring and put out better storylines like they used to, people over the age of 12 would care again.
On a side note, in a fight Big Dana would crush Trips into fucking vapor. End of discussion.

Let's see:
UFC: primetime specials on network TV, regular million-plus buyrates, massive global appeal, huge presence in Latin America.
WWE: 200,000 buyrates, cable show with ratings declining ever year, most fans are embarrassed to admit it, owned by two fake conservatives, promotes racial stereotypes, can draw in foreign markets only because they rarely go to them, will never be accepted by the mainstream, still a redneck sideshow.

Numbers speak for themselves, Double-Double-E has been getting nuked in buyrates since 2006.
MMA offers the same drama & character dynamics of old school pro wrestling (guys you love to hate like Tito, Kos, Mir & Bisping etc and guys you wanna get behind & root for like Chuck, Randy, Nog, Wand) the only difference is the action is 100% real & unscripted.
This is the reason MMA almost killed pro wrestling in Japan in '01-'05 and the reason the same thing is happening in North America as we speak.
Posted By: Guest#0349 (Guest) on September 22, 2011 at 12:00 AM

Why is HHH saying something stupid here?
UFC is unparalleled when it is great, but great is rare. More often than not, there is more humping than a gay porn. Perhaps HHH is onto something here when it comes to entertainment...either go back to UFC 1, or evolve.
