Eric Bischoff to Head up New TV Venture

With Scott Baio…
- Eric Bischoff is set for another TV production with Scott Baio. Here are the details…
"Nickelodeon's Nick at Nite picks up the original scripted live-action pilot, Daddy's Home, which will star actor/director/writer/producer Scott Baio (Happy Days, Joni Loves Chachi, Charles In Charge, and Scott Baio is 45 and Single, among others) , Nick at Nite's first since the early 1990s (Hi Honey I'm Home). The multi-camera, half-hour comedy resolves around David Hobbs (Baio) an actor who becomes a stay at home dad after playing a popular TV dad for ten years, thus holding up his end of the bargain he made with his soap star wife so that she can now return work. Daddy's Home comes from creators/executive producers Tina Albanese (a producer on JAG, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation) and Patrick Labyorteaux (Andrew Garvey on Little House on the Prairie, and Bud Roberts on JAG) and is executive producers Eric Bischoff (also an author) and Jason Hervey (Wayne Arnold on The Wonder Years) via their Bischoff Hervey Entertainment (BHE), along with Baio. BHE previously worked on Scott Baio is 45 and Single, Scott Baio is 46 and Pregnant, and Confessions of a Teen Idol. Before partnering Bischoff and Hervey produced numerous live events and other productions. Nick at Nite's current programming lineup includes family series such as Home Improvement, Everybody Hates Chris, Friends, George Lopez, and Family Matters, as well as The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and Roseanne."

Let me get this straight:
TNA relies on Eric Bischoff to help them expand and gain a foothold as a mainstream wrestling company...and Bischoff's side venture proving his connectivity to pop culture is a show with Chachi from Happy Days?
What are the chances that TNA's new heel faction is led by Fonzi, with Potsie and Ralph Mouth?

Good for Eric.
That said, it's worrisome that Spike's go-to guy for TNA matters is being stretched thin.

Very nice. Spelling and grammatical mistakes in the press release. Go do this shit, Eric.

I will laugh when it bombs, and it will. Whatever that right-wing nutjob touches turns to shit. Is he going to sneak his butt-buddy Hogan in on some episodes?

At first I thought Bitchoff might have had a falling out with his boyfriend Jason Hervey, but I see that little fag is involved too. Goddamnit, can TNA get any more lame? What a fucking joke.
And who is the illiterate fuckwad who proofreads this shit? That candy-ass pussy bitch James Jennings?

It's been about 10-15 years since Scott Baio was 45. Please take Eric Bishoff out of wrestling I'd be happy to see him gone.

Bischoff is pretty smart b/c that's a broad base comedy that will be successful. It's good to see Bischoff do more work than just wrestling now in days.

I love how this press release goes out of it's way NOT to mention anything wrestling related in Bischoff's credentials, leaving him with only "also an author" as a brag. Forget that his one book was essentially about wrestling. Hell, you'd think they could at least spin his time in WCW into "executive for Turner Broadcasting" or "producer for TBS" (Bischoff did produce several made for TV movies for TBS). While I give Bischoff more credit than most other smarks in the IWC, I agree that it's very telling that the guy who's trying to save TNA seems genuinely embarassed to admit that he's worked in wrestling.
