WWE News: Update on WWE Belt Change, Backstage Visitors, More
Posted by Larry Csonka on 12.06.2011
More WWE news…
- Vince McMahon was not at Raw last night, and Triple H ran the show in his absence. Vince was in Afghanistan, visiting with the troops and finishing some filming to be used with the WWE Tribute to the Troops show.
- Jim Ross, Sean Waltman, Layla and former Diva Cherry were visiting backstage last night.
- While there have been rumors that the WWE would be changing the WWE Title belt design, including WWE.com doing an article about the idea, at this time, there is no plan to change the title. There has been a fake YouTube video out there, claiming to show the design of the new title, but it is not real. There have been rumors that they could go back to an older design, possible the title design used before Cena started using the spinner belt, but again, there is no official change currently in the plans.
Why wouldn't you go back to a respectable look? The belt is out dated as fuck! I seriously question the decision making going on in the WWE. No, I'm not trying to troll, I'm dead serious.

But they should be nice looking props.

The belt is very outdated. So early 2000. Classic looks are in right now. While theyre at it, change the scratch logo. It reminds me of Zubaz.

erm... yeh, as are the ringposts, chairs, tables, mics... infact thay are all props BUT IMPORTANT ONES!!!
Hell they shouldn't go back to an older design - IC title has done that - if they are going for a remake it needs to be a new design (just not anything like the Jeff Hardy Immortal belt... yuck!)

The belt looks dated as hell. I have always hated it. Looks more like a toy then a belt

CM Punk looked very strong on raw this week.

Put Triple H in charge more often. It was a great show.

Yeah, a new design please! At least the logo stopped spinning... Time for a new one. How can they have that crap looking thing when there's the uber-awesome World Heavyweight Championship belt?? WCW made the best title belt ever. And on the topic of change..do away with Nickelback already and get a new theme!!!!!!

My muscles are props to I can get pussy. WTF is your point?

Sales of the spinner belt must be dropping in recent months if they're talking about this.
Posted By: Scott (Guest) on December 06, 2011 at 01:48 PM
I've never really liked that title, but seriously, it's been almost 8 years and it doesn't exactly have a classic look to it. Get something better please.

I couldn't believe it when somebody other than Cena actually kept that belt around. They didn't do it with the U.S. spinner belt, why would they do it with the one belt that makes the "biggest prize in the game" look like a joke? Not to mention, Punk said on tv a few months back that he wanted that ugly belt out of here.

The pre-spinner belt was the old Undisputed Championship belt and I thought that was the best one.

Ever since Cena debuted that belt, he started hearing boos. Coincidence?
Posted By: Guest#2058 (Guest) on December 06, 2011 at 03:34 PM
i dont hate the current belt like most people, but i do feel its about time to put a new belt design out there, only because the current one has been around for 6 and a half years, that's considered a long time for a belt not to change it's look, especially when you look at the time life of previous versions.

I have ALWAYS hated the spinner belt. Any vanity belt should be used for that champ only. The spinner belt to me was always a joke and I have felt sorry for any other serious wrestler who has had the glory of winning a world title only to be handed that piece of shit. Although I have always considered the NWA world title THE world title, it is time to start over and go for a new design with a more classic feel.

Trash the wwe belt and keep the world belt ,one company needs only one champion.

I'd love to see the Winged Eagle return, but the last design would be okay. Just don't change the World Title.

I hate the stupid spinner belt. Time for a change.

Instead of a wwe championship belt and a world heavyweight title belt why don't they just drop that retarted spinner, unify the champs and have one WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Makes sense to me.

That belt looked like shit. The attitude era belt is still my fave

shows how stupid they are. look at the ugly thing.

The current WWE Title looks terrible and always has. Winged Eagle belt is the way to go.
Posted By: Jimbo Slice (Guest) on December 06, 2011 at 07:05 PM
The belt has always felt like Cena's belt just waiting to get back around his waist when it isn't there already.

Now that you're done quoting disgruntled wrestler interviews from 4 years ago... actually no point, kinda like you!

RAW was indeed great, credit to HHH, but I find it funny a 65 year old man went to Afghanistan instead of his 39 year old son-in-law. :)

The WWE championship belt look great. I think alot of you are letting the fact that it "used to spin" get in the way of it's unique design. If u enjoy classic designs, that's what the World Heavyweight Championship is for. The WHC title design looks boring to me personally
