Smackdown Wrestler Ends Year on 18-Match Losing Streak
Posted by Jeremy Thomas on 12.30.2011

- Heath Slater has the dubious honor of carrying the longest WWE losing streak of the year. Slater's loss to Justin Gabriel on NXT ends the year for him with an eighteen-match TV and PPV losing streak. His last televised win was on July 28th, when he beat Trent Barreta on Superstars.

Edge had the longest winning TV/PPV streak of the year, with seventeen before his forced retirement after WrestleMania.

Mike Boyette & Rocky King"s loss record is safe for another 2-3 years. Keep it up Heath.

Make that 19. He lost to Sheamus on Smackdown this week.

I just hope Slater didn't really think he was ever going to amount to anything. When you're the 4th most important guy in a stable of jobbers, your future isn't very bright.

I can't believe anyone keeps track of this stuff. Besides, that's nothing compared to Brooklyn Brawler or Barry Horowitz.

Can't wait to see Slater jumping up and down on a trampoline screaming about not being booked. Maybe he can ref for Wade Barrett in his retirement match later in life.

It's a shame, because Slater's really blossomed since a weak start on NXT - he's kind of a poor man's Ziggler at this point. Having Gabriel and Slater turn on each other for no reason was WWE at its most frustrating, in terms of just not giving a damn about anything except the Raw main event.

Pretty sure he won't top the Mulkey Bros losing streak either...

thinking about them get slaughtered by every guy in NWA back in the mid 80's brings back fond memories of saturday nights on TBS.

But at least Heath Slater can claim he never lost a match in Columbus, Ohio

Too bad Slater was suspended for a month, otherwise just imagine how much longer that streak could've been.

Now he can challenge The Undertaker's streak at Wrestlemania.

No offense bro, but you just kind of described the future Dolph Ziggler when he was in the Spirit Squad (which was clearly built around and led by Kenny Dykstra).

Mr. Ziggles is doing okay for himself, so Slater shouldn't lose hope, at least not based on what you mentioned.
