WWE News: Jericho the Mystery Man, Mark Henry Working Through the Pain, Undertaker Update, More
Posted by Larry Csonka on 01.04.2012
More morning news!
- Chris Jericho was always planned to be the mystery man for 1.02.12. There were reports when the videos started to run that negotiations between Jericho and WWE broke down, which was likely just a smokescreen by Jericho. There were never plans for anyone else to be in the mystery man role.
- Many people backstage have been impressed with the mental and physical toughness of Mark Henry as he guts through his groin injury. Many realize that he would have taken time off to heal, and at this time, Henry is working through extreme pain as he does what he can physically at this point.
- Despite rumors being out there, he Undertaker wasn't at Raw on Monday night. At this time, Taker is expected back to begin his build to WrestleMania after the Rumble PPV.
- Road Dogg BG James has gotten really high marks as a WWE producer so far.

But if Mark Henry wasn't wearing a bandage over his "injured foot" while he was wearing a boot, he'd be more believable, instead, the bookers or Vince or whoever are reaching back to 1986 & pulling a Mr. Fuji (claiming to have the "Asian flu", clutching his head moaning & groaning in the locker room, lying on a wooden bench, wearing his bowler hat)

Glad to see James back in this capacity. The James family belongs in pro wrestling in some manner or another. I sure BG could help out some of the guys with there mic skills.

I say it's about time there is a heel that has the perpetual injury, which gives him an excuse to wear some device he can use as a weapon. It worked very well for Bob Orton in the 80's and D-Lo Brown in the 90's. The only downside to that is that you really need a face PBP announcer who can sell that the injury isn't real (Gorilla Monsoon or JR). Other than that, it is the kind of gimmick that can elevate someone from lower midcard to upper midcard. Perhaps Tyson Kidd or Drew McIntyre could make the gimmick work.

Especially considering that he's just in a holding pattern right now. He's just like Sheamus right now. Go away for a bit and come back to be instantly relevant again. Nobody is going to think less of him for it.
