Update on CM Punk Appearing at UFC on FOX 2

The latest on the deal…
- According to Pwinsider.com, here is the latest on CM Punk appearing in the corner of Chael Sonnen at UFC on FOX 2. Sources say that this is not a deal that was put together by the UFC and WWE, instead, it was more of something Sonnen and Punk put together on their own. There is no promotional plan in place between the two companies, and this is not something so do with setting up a Brock Lesnar return to WWE.
UFC on FOX 2 takes place the night before the Royal Rumble, and there is a possibility that the WWE could get a plug out of Punk's appearance for the PPV. Not many people within WWE knew about the appearance until it leaked out on MMA sites.
It would not be impossible for the two companies to work together. In 1997, WWE licensed footage of Ken Shamrock in UFC to educate their audience as to who he was. Also, when Brock Lesnar debuted with the UFC, the company licensed footage of Lesnar from WWE for commercial use. Shane McMahon, who is no longer with the company, put that deal together.
Kinda makes sense seeing as though Chael Sonnen is kind of like the CM Punk of the UFC. Punk became popular for speaking his mind on whatever he saw fit, exactly what Chael Sonnen has done over the past few years.

now that lesnar left UFC the top guy of UFC is jon jones. dana said lesnar can go to WWE. Lesnar to WWE!!!!! Wooooo! and CM punk showing up on that UFC event on FOX will be sure to get UFC big ratings...

I do't remember UFC using WWE footage of Lesnar, only clips of his match with Kurt Angle for Inoki Genome Federation in Japan.
Dana has said publicly that he admires Vince and WWE holds the stance that UFC is not their competition(except in Europe, what?) but either man would gladly slit the other's throat.

So for a straight edge attitude he sure doesn't mind hanging out with people who abuse enhancement drugs...Chael..his current old lady beth...straight edge my ass

Just cause a guy is straight edge doesn't mean he needs to push his lifestyle on anyone else. If I'm dating a Vegan chick I wouldn't want to just eat vegetables all day just cause she does. It's the same with the religious folks that shovel their beliefs down everyone's throat... just mind what you do and stop harassing others to be more like you. Punk has the right mindset albeit his former heel gimmick in the S.E.S.

I dated a Vegetarian, myself. She didn't like meat, but she sure liked the bone.
