Posted by Mike Watters on 04.19.2004
Better late than never. Whattya gonna do?
At the beginning of this year, 411Mania.com continued its long standing tradition of bestowing upon various individuals, organizations, wrasslers staff members, columns and articles a coveted 411Maina.com Year End Award, voted on by YOU the valued readers of 411Mania.com's family of Zones. Normally, these would have been posted quite a bit of time ago, but server changes and crashes, staff changes, updates to our beloved website has prevented the tabulation of the votes, and posting of the results. But never fear Big Mike Watters has your back. I needled I poked I bugged Widro so much that he changed his AIM on me!!! But I have it. I have the results the results that YOU gave us. Thank you for your patience, and over the next few days, I will be bringing forth the winners of each category, one each day from the Zones, and one award from the readers of 411Black get in there and check it out kids
Eh. Enough plugs. Let's bring forth the first award and we will start with the 411 Readers Choice Award: 411 Fan Forumer of the Year. Yeah I'm biased, I know being the Administrator of the Forums here at our beloved domain, and admittedly, it has been a rocky road to walk this past year or so. We added Chris Hyatte, 411Mania.com's evil conscious to help out with law around the forums we lost some posters gained some new friends and the Forum is still your best place to express your opinion on this here Internet.
That being said as voted on by the readers of 411Mania.com, with most of them coming from the Forumers(let's be honest, now ), with a little under 19% of the vote split amongst 10 awesome contributors to the Forum the winner is:
Unprettier!!!
UnP is posting right now on the Forums as UNPEE LOVES AXEWOUNDS!!!(you got me ), but he is VERY deserving of the award. A veteran of the Forums since August of 2001, he continues to entertain, weird out, and generally power the creativity of my little corner of the 411Mania.com family. Congrats to UnPee check out his posts on the Forums especially the comics he wrote just funny as hell.
In second place was another quality guy, a poster who goes by Socko. Socko is a big Bill O'Reilly fan. Don't hold it against him. ļ
Rounding out the top three is 411Mania.com database guru Tom Daniels, who posts as Daniels on the Forums. We all bow to Tom. Even though I am the Administrator of the Forums Tom has the key to the place. Mostly because he is the only one Widro trusts with FTP access. ļ
Congrats to all!!!
Moving on there were awards voted on by the readers of the 411Black Zone, and today I bring you the 411Black Readers Choice Award for Best TV Show. I don't remember whom I voted for actually(probably the HBO show), but with 21% of the votes cast, your choice for best TV show is
The Daily Show!!!
The Daily Show is broadcast on Comedy Central but somehow has inched itself into relevancy for today's youth, who have become sick of the stodgy and skewed reporting of Network and Cable news programs. They'll tell you they are not a news program, but a study was done, and there are some folks out there, especially high school students, who list the Daily Show as their PRIMARY source of news. Dear God. More power to them.
Hosted by Jon Stewart, who has not had much success in the talk show realm, has flourished as the lead jester in the parade of ¡§correspondents¡¨, including Steven Colbert who, like Stewart, has begun to branch into movies, and was sought out like the boys by each of the Democratic nominees in the ongoing Presidential race. Go figure. CNN has to drop 10 calls, but The Daily Show gets chased around.
They must be doing something right.
In second place came the highly rated Fox Network show ¡§24¡¨, starring Kiefer Sutherland, and bringing up the Bronze position was a tie new Fox show ¡§The O.C.¡¨, and NBC staple, ¡§Friends¡¨.
Keep a watch out for more Award winners tomorrow's episode includes WWE Wrestler of the Year, and the Readers Choice Award for Best Reality Show on TV. Thank you very much for reading.
