- NFL player Adam Carriker recently called John Cena "cheesy" and yet still found time to get a photo op with him. The Redskins player wrote the following on his blog in December:
A lot of you know that I am big wrestling fan. I thought I would offer an opinion about a couple things. First of all, I miss WCW. The WWE needs some competition. I miss flipping back and forth between the end of Raw and Nitro trying to catch the end of both of them at the same time; and this was before TiVo, so if you missed the end, you missed it. TNA is trying to come up in the wrestling world but they just aren't to that level where they can push the WWE and make them better. One last thing: I really wish Goldberg, The Rock or Stone Cold would come back. Wrestling really lacks a major star right now, unless you count John Cena, who I like, but find rather cheesy. By the way, Goldberg is my favorite wrestler of all time. Who knows, maybe that will be what I do when I'm finished with football. I could definitely body slam a few people. Watch out, the Dark Horse is coming!
Then last week, he posted the following picture and message to his Twitter:
You know that @JohnCena can't see @BigPoppaPump! Best part about meeting him was I was wearing a "Rock" t-shirt, lol!!

So he admits he likes Cena, but finds him cheesy, and goes for a photo op. So what? Way to look for controversy that isn't there. But the good news is now that Carriker's had his picture taken with Cena, 411 can pad the wrestling news sections with info about him, as it does with anyone else who has merely mentioned WWE in passing.

I really think cena is cheesy too, but he's for the younger fans so it is what it is. But if the "dark horse" thinks he himself doesn't look like a big packet of velveta cheese then he's the creamiest

Oh come on, the collective IWC thinks Cena is cheesy and old but most of us have a lot of respect for the guy's work ethic. If I met Cena I'd mark out, not be all "Oh, your ring works tired bro, can I get a picture?"

Don't see anything too hypocritical here. Carriker did say he liked Cena, just found him 'cheesy' at the moment. Fair call. If Cena freshened (aka Heeled) up, Carriker would probably acknowledge it. He says Cena is a star right now so why not get the photo done - bit of exposure for both guys?

I met Cena during an autograph session a few years ago. He was a great guy, like I always figured he would be, but I still don't like his wrestling. He offered to take a picture with me, I passed. I went and got one taken with Benoit instead. Yes, this was before all that other stuff happened, which I don't want to mention.
