CM Punk Says He's Not a Role Model
Posted by Jeremy Thomas on 01.18.2012
He's taking the Charles Barkley approach...
- CM Punk recently said that he doesn't want to be viewers as a role model, even if he might make a good one. Punk made the comments in a recent Arizona Republic interview promoting Monday's Raw.
"I'm the straight-edge guy," he said. "I'm a damn good guy to look up to. But, I approach it the way Charles Barkley approached it. I'm not a role model. Everybody should choose their own path in life."
When asked about whether he's worried about the length of his career considering the physical demands of the business he said, "Sure. I don't want to be broke. But, they always say it's not about how much money you make. It's about how much money you save."
Athletic, outspoken, wise about what he chooses to put in his body, atheist...
He sounds like an excellent role model, whether he wants to be or not.

He's right, he's not a role model. He's a rebel.

I envy his tattoos, makes me realize my ideas for tatts arent half as bad as a pepsi logo and the Cobra symbol.

Look at the skanks he bangs...of course he's not a role model...Cue the basement dwelling marks defending Maria, Beth and the thousands on the indy scene.

True. Punk is one of the few clean guys out there but I like that he tells others not to idolize him. He still has a slight edge to him.

Of course not the guy is a dick

And that's why he's one of the smartest wrestlers in the biz.

I like how he talks about not being a role model...then goes and says two of the most "role modelish" things ever:
1)Everybody should choose their own path in life.
2)...it's not about how much money you make. It's about how much money you save.
He is a real role model, not a bullshit one like Hogan.

Because athiesm is SUCH a wonderful thing. Anybody who is certain of anything, whether God or anything else people choose to worship, is real or isn't if an idiot and a tool.
Does God exist? Probably not. But there's no way to prove otherwise and religious belief is a positive impact on the lives of many. Religious or areligious zealotry just breeds hate and ignorance.
Bottom line: people don't know. Pretending otherwise is just feeding your ego. Fortunately, Punk doesn't make a big deal about his personal beliefs and just lets people live their lives. Which is the real reason he's a good role model.

He is also not a wrestler who can draw ratings!

Remember when Edge had those "NOT YOUR DAMN ROLE MODEL" T-shirts?

Says the obviously socially-inept shut-in with internet standards?

Athletic? He's one of the clumsiest wrestlers on the roster. His Savage elbow is hideous.

Can't wait to see the book or DVD where he talks about his lame suburban upbringing or all the rats he's banged, or what a scheming fuck he really is. #wikifullalies

This isn't really defending, I'm just wondering how you know that Maria, Beth, and the thousands on the indy scene are all skanks?

Well if he's a Punk fan he probably got the idea from the Punk & Cabana (not to be confused with Dolce & Gabbana) shoot video. Punk calls out every piece of wrestling trim for being a rat. And how many of them have been passed around that locker room (Maria, Beth, Mickie, even rookie AJ is on her 3rd or 4th wrestler man, kayfabe with Bryan aside).
Face reality: 99% of women in wrestling ARE rats ESPECIALLY in WWE where I wouldn't be shocked to hear that Boxing Day Bukkake was a holiday tradition. For every Trish there's a Lita, Kelly, Mickie, and a Velvet with a dozen indy rats beinging up the rear.
And to any woman wrestler out there who disagrees, if you've ever "dated" a wrestler, you're a rat.

CM Yummy! No wonder the divas are lining up for a shot at the champ.
