Hulk Hogan Talks About Loving Wrestling, Randy Savage, More

Hogan says Macho Man needs to be in the WWE Hall of Fame…
- Hulk Hogan was on TalkSport Radio in the U.K., promoting TNA's tour. While on the show, he discussed his status in wrestling, noting the following…
"I'm not actively on the roster as far as jumping in the ring every night. But, I just love the business and I just want to be around and be part of it."
He also noted that "Macho Man" Randy Savage was the top wrestler missing from WWE's Hall of Fame. From there he said that Jeff Hardy and AJ Styles were the future stars of the TNA roster. Finally, when discussing the Rock having a full time acting career, Hogan said, "I opened the door and he power-talked through it."

The Rock should say thank you to the Hulkster for paving the way for wrestlers in hollywood!!!

I agree with Hogan: Jeff Hardy and AJ Styles are the best wrestlers in th world.

Hulk Hogan movies > The Rock movies

Hulkster is right, if there was no Hogan, there would be no Dwayne Johnson movie career.

Just want to give mad props to the Hulster for showing some love to the Macho Man. WWE should learn from Hogan!
Posted By: Jacks (Guest) on January 26, 2012 at 01:35 PM
Yes because it was all of Hogan's blockbusters that had Hollywood saying "gee, if we cast a wrestler in a lead role, we could make tons of money like that smash hit Suburban Commando did!!!!". Morons, Hogan almost as quickly shut the door on wrestlers in Hollywood as much as he opened it.

Oh Hulkster... you fool.. it was actually Jesse Ventura who *proved* that a former wrestling star could make it in Hollywood in a non-wrestling related film... "No Holds Barred" is Hogan's only claim to fame, and that's just because of the wrestling theme of the movie, and the incredible amount of cross-promotion with the WWF.

AJ's gonna be Hogan's age and sorry TNA fans will continue to say that he's the homegrown tallent that's the future. Sad LOL

Now if we wasn't actively involved in TNA they might be successful. They'd at the least have an additional 35k in their pockets for each instance he doesn't show up at all

uhm... Hogan's main movie claim is Rocky 3. Regardless- Andre opened the door with the Princess Bride

Don't forget Piper. They Live rules.

The Hulk-Macho relationship is one of the weirder ones in wrestler. Macho claimed to hate the man, but I do wonder what his career would have been like, for better or worse, without Hogan. Also I vote They Live as my fav wrestler turned actor movie.

What about Rocky 3?

once again , HAS BEEN HOGAN has to flex his ego. hogan was a failure as a hollywood actor which is why he keeps crawling back to the rassling buisness so he can con the gullible tna fans into thinking that tna can challenge wwe and that it is still 1997 and he is a big time star etc.
as far as randy savage goes, the wwe hof is vince mcmahon's hof and if he does not want randy in there, it is his right to blacklist him.

While I don't want to speak ill of Savage, he's certainly deserving of being in the Hall of Fame, but Sammartino is the one guy that isn't in it that should be in before anyone else.

Roddy Piper, Terry Funk, and Jesse Ventura did more for "paving the way" than Hulk did for movies.

Hulk Hogan was in Rocky that says it all

Considering how close Hogan and Savage were for many, many years in the WWE, even through all the ups and downs, I'm not surprised to see Hogan sing the praises of Savage by saying that he should be inducted in the HOF, but he's right. Savage should be in the HOF, because Savage was the man back in the 80s in the WWF. There's no question about it. On a side note another wrester that I hope some day gets inducted into the HOF is one of the most underrated talkers and gifted entertainers in the history of the wrestling business, the late great Adrian Adonis, who Savage sold out Madison Square Garden with in the 80s during 1986 and 1987, when Hogan wasn't on the card or was takig time off from a house show to do promotional work for the WWE during the time. I think about Adrian a lot.....some day I hope he takes his rightful place in the HOF. RIP Adrian. I miss you.

Mister Nanny, Rocky III & No Holds Barred vs. Doom & Southland Tales & SCORPION KING!!!!
EPIC 6-MAN TAG!

I see Hogan finally feels some guilt about NEVER letting Savage gain a pinfall on him in any capacity.
Among the biggest travesties was Hogan using his creative control clause to end Savage's WCW World title reign...at a mere 24 hours...for two consecutive years!
That being said, I hope Savage doesn't get in this year. He deserves to be the crown jewel inductee, even posthumously. This year, he'd be #3 behind Edge and the Four Horsemen.
I wouldn't put it past Vince to squeeze him in this year to capitalize on Savage's Florida ties, and the fact that he can bury Savage's induction in with others he deems more important so Savage still doesn't get the proper respect he deserves.

Lanny Poffo said the the only thing that kept his brother out of the WWE Hall of Fame was Randy's DEMAND that Lanny, Angelo and he all go in as a family.
I can't argue that Angelo and Randy deserve it, but Lanny?
That would be one hell of a concession to make.

First 6 comments are all the same troll

so did the same guy posts the first 6 comments? I think so. In Rocky 3 hogan played a wrestler for 10 minutes. not much of a stretch there.

Hogen is a joke and tna is pathetic.

The ORIGINAL Texas Bad-A** Terry Funk (as Hard-boiled Haggarty) worked with Stallone. Meanwhile, once of the COOLEST lines in movie-history?
"I'm here to chew bubble-gum and kick a** And, I'm fresh out of bubble-gum".
No question, The Hulkster was one of the wrestlers who helped make "Hollywood" wrestler-friendly.

Are you kidding? Suburban Commando sucked worse than The Marine 2.
