WWE News: Zack Ryder Update, Jericho & Foley Talk Rumble
Posted by Larry Csonka on 01.30.2012

- WWE.com has an article, updating fans on the status of Zack Ryder. You can check that out here. Here are quotes from WWE physician Dr. Chris Amann on Ryder's injuries…

"The most worrisome aspect of that move [the tombstone piledriver] is a compression force to the cervical spine that does have the potential to fracture several vertebrae and render serious injury. We've taken him to the hospital as a precautionary measure, at which point in time we'll get cervical spine X-rays and most likely a CAT scan to make sure that's there's been no significant damage,"

- Mick Foley posted the following after his appearance in the Royal Rumble last night…

Thanks for such positive RR feedback. I don't move too quickly these days, but being out there was a great experience! Bedtime plug next!

- Chris Jericho posted the following after his appearance in the Royal Rumble last night…

Stop whining.....

Remember when Punk took that photo after the December PPV with all of the young champions? My have things changed in a rapid way:

Zack is on the rapid burial/decline/future endeavored fast track, Bourne is likely gone for good following the 2 wellness/drug busts...

who will be the next person from Punk's Champions pic to get the boot from the 'E? Smart money is on Kofi. After 'Mania, I expect Kingston to get the Future Endeavored call.

While I agree that these guys deserve better, it's not like the new belt holders are ancient. Swagger and the Colons have potential too.

Um... Zack Ryder is being involved in a major storyline with the company's top guy and he's being buried? That's why WWE moved his YouTube show to their channel, right? Zack moves merch.

Evan Bourne signed his own ticket. Why would Kofi be sent packing with him? Kofi moves merch.

If anyone's place in the company from that pic is in question it's Beth Phoenix. She hasn't been on TV in weeks and now Kharma is back, Beth's dominant diva status is gone. If Beth loses her title, her run in the company could be over.

Now see, it's easy to make sense when you try.

Looking forward to hearing from Jericho on RAW tonight how the world changed last night at the Rumble. It must have been a part I missed.

Thank goodness that Zack had enough strength left to wrap his arms around Kane's legs, otherwise that tombstone could have been worse.

You can be involved in all the major story lines you want. If you're being booked like a goof and a loser, you're being buried. Somehow the gimmick of "John Cena's little buddy" doesn't make me excited to see Zack Ryder.

Good point, this wrestling stuff isn't on the level. Thank Benoit we had you around to tell us.

Ryder's character is that of a goof and a loser.

I assume that you haven't seen a single episode of his web series, have you?

You would know just how wrong you are if you had.

No, I haven't. I've seen Moday Night RAW, along the vast majority of wrestling fans. And that much larger audience is watching him being booked as a goof and a loser.

I won't deny that Ryder is talented, and could even be something really special if given the chance, but being the guy who gets to take all of Super-Cena's beatings for him is doing damage he might not be able to recover from.

Think about it: Kane tombstoned a guy in a back brace last night, and the fans cheered KANE. The booking team has put Ryder in such a deep hole, all the webisodes in the world won't get him out of it.
