TNA returned to The Township in Columbia Thursday night with a great house show. Prior to the show, I attended an autograph session with Velvet Sky and James Storm at the local Direct Auto from 2:00-4:00 p.m. This was a great experience, and I got a ton of stuff signed and took a million pictures with them. They were very friendly and seemed to enjoy themselves.
I got to the arena early and saw Ric Flair pull in. They opened the door to the public at 6:30 p.m., and had Velvet Sky signing at a table. Don West was the hype man and is definitely the best in the biz. The show started right on time with Jeremy Borash serving as the ring announcer.
(1) Eric Young & ODB beat TV champion Robbie E. & Rob Terry. The referee was Brian Hebner. The match was about what you would expect. A good choice for the opener, as it got the crowd into it from the get-go. Lots of comedic spots, including a dance-off. ODB and Young both pinned Robbie following a missile dropkick off the top rope from Young.
(2) X Division champion Austin Aries beat Jesse Sorensen and Zema Ion in a three-way match to retain the X Division Title. The referee was Earl Hebner. Very good, fast-paced match. The crowd was actually behind Double A, as several "Austin Aries" chants broke out. Aries pinned Ion following a brainbuster.
(3) Knockouts champion Gail Kim beat Velvet Sky to retain the Knockouts Title. The referee was Brian Hebner. Solid Knockouts match that got the crowd really into it. Nice ovation for Sky following the loss.
(4) A.J. Styles beat Kazarian. The referee was Earl Hebner. This was the Match of the Night. These two guys work really well together and I could defiantly see this match on upcoming PPVs. Styles won with a roll-up after several reversals.
[Intermission. Austin Aries signed at the table, which, according to Don West, he never does, and both Hebners signed the "Damn Right I Did It" t-shirt if you were willing to buy one.
(5) Gunner (w/Ric Flair) beat Garett Bischoff. The referee was Earl Hebner. Tough spot for Bischoff, as Columbia is definitely Flair Country, not to mention Gunner always has (and still does) work a lot of independent shows in the area. Flair cut a promo before the match, basically letting Bischoff know that this was the house that Flair built. Gunner won after Flair interfered.
(6) Jeff Hardy & James Storm beat TNA World Hvt. champion Robert Roode & Kurt Angle. The referee was Brian Hebner. This was advertised as two separate matches, but TNA combined them for some reason into this tag match. Good match with Hardy being way over with the crowd. The finish saw Angle hit the Angle Slam on Hardy, Storm hit the superkick on Angle, Roode delivered a spinebuster to Storm, and Hardy reversed a PerfectPlex by Roode into the Twist of Fate for the win.
After the show, $20 allowed fans to get in the ring and take a picture with Hardy and Storm. Earl Hebner was also back at his table. I was very disappointed they did not bring out the locker room after the show to sign autographs for the fans like they have at every other TNA show I've been to. Other than that, it was a great show and I can't wait for them to return!
What, no Earl Hebner molesting Knockouts? They should've asked for their money back.

I'm going to assume that most of the wrestlers were tired and simply wanted to go to the hotel, or catch a plane for the next city.

check my ip and you will see i'm from columbia sc. i have no idea who wrote this but he or she must have not been at the show. TNA for two days were giving tickets away on the street because no one was buying them. The crowd was dead and the show was terrible. Never in my life have I seen such a promotion be so bad. It was stale and so was the wrestling. matches lasted 2 minutes and the rest was bad line reading. jeff hardy looked drunk or high and while in the ring taking pictures with fans after the show was staggering and falling all over the place. Matt Hardy and jeff hardy both were spotted at the local hardees after the show and damn near ate them out of business. Must have been the munchies, I dont know. Anyway, even with TNA giving tickets away there may have been 200 people there.
