The Rock Not a Fan of Films Starring Wrestlers
Posted by Jeremy Thomas on 02.03.2012

- The Rock said in a recent Q&A that he's not a fan of most films starring wrestlers. When asked if he's ever seen a film starring a wrestler that he enjoyed, he answered:

[Long pause] "The only film I've enjoyed starring a wrestler was Mickey Rourke in The Wrestler. That's it."

'They Live' starring Rowdy Roddy Piper. Cult classic.

Fuck you Rock! Suburban Commmando was awesome!

The Rock is a wrestler tho and he stars in films. kinda hypocritical.

Posted By: Guest#2349 (Guest)  on February 03, 2012 at 09:23 AM

Maybe his initial co-stars back in 2001-2002 felt the same way.

rock is working the wrestling fans.

I guess he's ashamed to admit that No Holds Barred was a fantastic film......BROTHERRRRR

Hogan & Rock showdown in Chicago..."Good luck because you're gonna need it"...."Not as much as youuuu......brotherrrr!!!!!"

So much for his, "I opened the door, so you could follow" speech. What a phony hack.

Posted By: Guest#7414 (Guest)  on February 03, 2012 at 10:00 AM

so he obviously hasn't seen They Live

Posted By: Jay Maleezy (Guest)  on February 03, 2012 at 10:11 AM

Not too surprising. Huge difference between wrestlers who act (the vast majority, including Austin) and actors who used to be wrestlers (pretty much only The Rock).

Did he see The Wrestler? That had actual wrestlers in it

Posted By: Bill (Guest)  on February 03, 2012 at 10:28 AM

The Wrestler sucked

Posted By: Guest#9188 (Guest)  on February 03, 2012 at 10:45 AM

He meant the garbage Hogan spewed out. Anybody remember Santa with Muscles, or Assault on Death Mountain, or No Holds Barred, or Mr. Nanny? That's just 4 examples. There's a lot more. Hogan was the king of completely shitty movies.

Says the professional wrestler who was the star of such classics like Tooth Fairy, Journey 2 and Escape to Witch Mountain.

I love the Rock... but I guess he forgot about WWE FILMS and "The Rundown" hypocritical comment i would say

The Rock OBVIOUSLY has no soul if he didn't enjoy The Princess Bride! Everyone knows that is the greatest movie to ever have a wrestler in it.

Posted By: Princess Bride>Tooth Fairy (Guest)  on February 03, 2012 at 11:23 AM

They Live and The Princess Bride...maybe that rocky movie hogan was in, i don't remember if it was one of them that was considered good or not.

I hope Cena whoops the Rocks ass at wrestlemania. Send that wrestling sellout back to Hollywood. He doesn't care about the people, just cares about upping his fame.

Posted By: Guest#7610 (Guest)  on February 03, 2012 at 01:02 PM

So I guess that means he hates his own films.

Ok so I didn't see his quote about seeing The Wrestler, big whoop, but still he said "staring a wrestler", there's at least 10 wrestlers in that movie

This will rule all these comments! lol and THATS the truth!

Posted By: The Truth (Guest)  on February 03, 2012 at 01:33 PM

So...did he just indirectly admit to hating every films he's been in? Join the club Rocky. And stop making movies.

Posted By: Alan (Guest)  on February 03, 2012 at 01:46 PM

I was perplexed when I first read this until I realized he didn't mean films starring wrestlers he means films where the main character is a wrestler. That explains it.

So... He doesn't enjoy his own films?

Posted By: Guest#4357 (Guest)  on February 03, 2012 at 02:04 PM

I think what he is saying is not that he doesn't like movies that star someone who is also a wrestler.. but rather that he doesn't like movies where the characters in the movie are wrestlers. As far as I know Mickey Rourke wasn't a professional wrestler, he was a boxer.

Posted By: Guest#9492 (Guest)  on February 03, 2012 at 02:14 PM

Same way I feel about any movie the rock is in, they suck. tooth fairy

Posted By: Guest#2501 (Guest)  on February 03, 2012 at 02:26 PM

He didn't like Princess Bride? What an asshole.

Posted By: Cactus (Guest)  on February 03, 2012 at 02:26 PM

The most humble guy in Hollywood. He just admitted all his movies suck.

Posted By: Guest#8309 (Guest)  on February 03, 2012 at 02:35 PM

I guess he's seen the Tooth fairy.

They Live, Princess Bride, X-Men, Spider-Man, and absolutely nothing starring Dwayne Johnson.

He's finally watched his movies!

Posted By: Leon (Guest)  on February 03, 2012 at 03:04 PM

What a hyprocrite! He says he "opened the door for other wrestlers to be in films", and then he flat out says "I don't watch movies with wrestlers except 'The Wrestler'". This is why I'm not Team Cena for Wrestlemania. By the way, Guest#9497, Mickley Rourke isn't a boxer. He's an actor who got one hell of a punch in on Chris Jericho at Wrestlemania 25.

The Rocks 2 best movies were Gridiron Gang and Walking Tall everything else was trash.
