WWE Considering 3D PPVs
Posted by Joseph Lee on 02.03.2012
Starting with Summerslam...
-WWE is now considering a 3D version of PPVs starting with Summerslam in August.
They won't be ready for the format by Wrestlemania. They are following UFC's lead, as they are offering UFC 143 PPV being offered at $10 over the HD price and a total of $20 over the standard definition PPV price.
no one buys the fucking regular dvds, who the fuck is going to buy 3D ppvs... and 3D tvs are dead

Yeah. That sounds like a great idea.

They really wanna shove home 3D down our throats, even though nobody wants it, until is "glasses free". And that won't be perfected for at least 10 years after it's unveiled.

I don't need my PPV's in 3D. Stop focusing on 3D and get your PPV's back in Buffalo Wild Wings. I'm not paying $60 to watch your shows. Hmmmm...the diva's matches might be worthwhile in 3D, though. You know -- you know what I'm sayin'. Then we get to see Kharma's penis up close and personal. Sa-weet.

So your telling me a PPV is gonna cost $65...Jesus, thats a little excessive don't you think?
Posted By: Guest#3722 (Guest) on February 03, 2012 at 03:21 PM
If people aren't spending $50 to watch your PPV, why would they spend $60? Great idea if you are happy with your PPV buyrates, not a great idea if you are not.

Sure, something that's about 2 years past it's acceptance why not do it "E"?

If this happens, every diva over 25 will be fired.

They want to go 3D? That is the worsest idea I've heard in my lyfe!! How about they concentrate on giving us a product that isn't kiddy crap again!! No one wants to see PG in 3D. All the real fans want TV-14 back! Rest In Piece, Attitude Era.

Charge the amount you currently do (for the HD version) for the 3D version, reduce the "normal" HD version by ten or fifteen dollars, give it a few months, watch buyrates increase quite a bit and profits grow. Oh, wait. Sorry. Here I was thinking WWE had any grasp of long-term thinking.

the "its still real to me!" people are gonna be in for a rude awakening if they go to 3D...

Oh great...Now I get to see all these scar marks from plastic surgery-oh...wait...wrong type of entertainment...

3D wrestling...nothing like suplexes and super tight spandex in 3D

Weren't they tossing around the idea of 3D PPVs being broadcast to movie theaters a while back? What became of that? I thought it was a pretty terrific idea.

Oh, goody. Because the gimmick of 3D hasn't already worn out its welcome.
I wonder what the premium for this "great innovation" is going to be?

how fucking stupid are they
Posted By: Guest#4450 (Guest) on February 03, 2012 at 04:18 PM
WOW! PPV's are already too overpriced and now WWE wants to sell them at a higher price point! I hope this bombs on them and they don't even recoup the costs of the equipment!
Posted By: mogamer (Guest) on February 03, 2012 at 04:22 PM
They can barely get people to buy their PPVs as it is, so they are going to spend thousands of dollars on 3D cameras and equipment to sell a SEVENTY DOLLAR SHOW to less than 5% of the population?
Posted By: Cactus (Guest) on February 03, 2012 at 04:36 PM
I would absolutely not purchase a PPV in 3D, for what it's worth.
Posted By: izotope (Guest) on February 03, 2012 at 04:49 PM
Oh for fucks sake... I'd actually pay to watch them if they put them back in movie theaters.

>All the real fans want TV-14 back! Rest In Piece, Attitude Era. <
The real fans support WWE through all it's forms, the fake fans are the ones who were only fans of when it was the trend to be fans. Guess what catergory you fall under?

So they're rehiring D-Von and Bubba? Sweet!

3D is overrated
Posted By: Matt (Guest) on February 03, 2012 at 06:49 PM
MORE GIMMICKS! LESS QUALITY! SURELY THIS IS THE FORMULA FOR SUCCESS!

That's gold, Jerry. GOLD.

I have not followed this latest "innovation," but I think UFC is show 143 in THEATRES in 3D, & it's only $12-14 if I'm not mistaken. That's not bad, but I can't speak for the quality. I'll have to try it out myself one day. 3D TVs are a flop, and there would be no point to making this available at home, waste of money.

The consider everything except for-actually putting on a good show.
Posted By: Guest#2222 (Guest) on February 04, 2012 at 03:03 AM
Didn't they already try this in the 80s and it didn't work?
Posted By: Guest#1797 (Guest) on February 04, 2012 at 03:07 AM
3D is a fad. It's not going to catch on.
Posted By: Banz (Guest) on February 04, 2012 at 06:48 AM
3D means more ring boner from Orton? OH GOD!!!!
