UPDATED: Impact Wrestling Rating
Posted by Jeremy Thomas on 02.03.2012

UPDATE: More details have been released about the Impact rating. The show was about even with the 2012 average of 1.62 million viewers and ranked #28 among cable TV shows last night. In the various demos the show ranked #23 among males 18-34, #13 among males 18-49, and #40 among adults 18-49.

The demos were down all the way across the board except with young male viewers, where the 12 - 17 demo was the highest since December.

They need a better channel and to get out of the impact zone. sadly it probably won't ever happen.

I wonder where TNA will go when Spike cancels the show?
Hopefully Spike will replace TNA with ROH.

when is terry bollea going to realize that today's fans don't really care about the stupid hulk hogan character anymore. you are an old man terry. give it up. you are a con artist and you will not make tna into a threat to wwe.

ted turner is not around to carry you anymore.

take warrior's advice and go home. i wish warrior would assault this bastard for real and "fix" his back so that he would never walk again, but knowing hogan's massive ego , he would still try to do the stupid hogan poses from his wheelchair and say brother 1,000 times.

Take that, Vince.

It sucks the rating went down, it was a great show.

WWE is 5 times 5 times 5 times 5 times 5 times more profitable than TNA. Can you dig it? SUCKAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

Wow what a terrible rating seeing that it was on at the bar I was at and considering nobody was watching it.

Posted By: Guest#9038 (Guest)  on February 03, 2012 at 08:12 PM

Honestly, that's kind of a shame, as last night's show wasn't that bad. In fact, it was the first time I tuned in to watch in several months.

I could have done without Hogan's "triumphant return" and the Eric/Garrett drama (trash of the night), but there was enough good to keep me interested (Roode/Storm, Aries, etc).

Also, it was mighty refreshing to see a new crowd.

I thought taping outside the Impact Zone was supposed to make more people tune in?

London = Ratings

Great rating considering Thursday night football, Spongebob, Beavis and Butthead, NBA basketball, 2 hockey games, Ghosthunters, American Idol, pawn stars reruns and my favorite.. Jersey Shore was on! wow! 1.15...too bad WWE can't get those ratings!!

Posted By: Spencer Mallard (Guest)  on February 03, 2012 at 08:52 PM

Great matches. One of the best Impacts in months. I felt sorry for that guy (Haskins) who botched that shooting star press. I remember years ago Brock Lesnar did the same thing at WM when he faced Kurt Angle.

we all know its gonna get updated around this time, why dont you just wair for the final numbers and than post it. besides its just exact copy of pw torch anyways. its more like a race to post right after PW torch post or updates stuff.

So, basically, they are happy with 1.6 million viewers a week, which is a joke. Podcasts get more than that. Sh*t _____ Say videos on Youtube get more than that.

It's nice to see that this company hasn't made an ounce of progress since I stopped watching regularly. The only reason why they're not dead yet is because WWE has gotten almost as bad, and can't bury them like they buried WCW.

I'm sure Spike is considering cancelling their #1 Rated show. ROH has been around as long as TNA and is still a glorified indy fed. TNA has been chipping away at the E's fanbase for a few years now and continues to grow.

Why does anyone consistently ignore the fact that the rating has been slowly climbing since it's debut with a .08?

Its not gonna turn around in one week...It will take time to wash the stench of the Impact Zone off....If TNA were taped every episode in front of real crowds like the UK show, the ratings would go up....The show last night was great

They're gonna be stuck there until they get one of there homegrown guys hot.In fact the ratings might dip a bit for a couple months while they build new guys...as long as they stay around 1.5 million ppl Spike won't say shit.

Posted By: MacDollarz. (Guest)  on February 03, 2012 at 11:51 PM

They don't really get money off ratings.Spike keeps all the ad money minus there personal corporate sponsors like Direct Auto and 5 hour energy etc.The ratings been 1.O to 1.3 for four fucking years.Sponsors, attendance, buyrates, merch, licensing, foreign tv etc should take precedence over ratings since they don't make a dime of rthe ads. They just need to stay on the better side of 1.2 and spike won't act crazy..just keep pushing young guys into the mainevent and uppercard.

Posted By: MacDollarz. (Guest)  on February 03, 2012 at 11:56 PM

They should stay on spike and look to add more programming. Not leave spike all together.Spike is happy a mediocre ratings.Impact is the highest rated show for them. Now if they can add a tuesday 2 hour show on a more established network than that's even better.Like I said they don't make money off ads..so they should not be looking at ratings they should be trynna fix ppv buys and attendance boost merch more sponsors like direct auto etc..Tna doesn't get a fucking dime from commercial space on impact. They get paid per hour of tv and from sponors they deal with that come from TNAs tv time not commerical breaks.I never understood why they panic over ratings and not their embarassing ppv buys and anemic attendance.

Great rating considering it was up against reruns of ALF and a Sweating to the Oldies infomercial.

"So, basically, they are happy with 1.6 million viewers a week, which is a joke. Podcasts get more than that. Sh*t _____ Say videos on Youtube get more than that."

Podcasts and youtube vids are available 24 hours a day, you moron. That's not even unique viewers, it's just number of views. Even so, I'd love for you to tell me what podcasts get over 1.6 million plays.

Spike's ratings as a whole has been in the bottom of the barrel for a few years. Spike and TNA deserve each other as both are the bottom of the barrel. WWE continues to stay on the top 2 channels and pull in the money. While TNA has been stale at 1.0 to 10 years. TNA nothing more than a Indy school gym promotion,.

TNA is growing, apparently.

Because that is patently not true.

TNA grosses 20 million a year WWE grosses 500 million. TNA has less then half the rating of WWE yet WWE has a budget 25 times greater. Sad WWE, SAD.

hogan and bishoff nobody wants to see them. the rating goes down.

umm.. thats even sadder when that many people watch the product and no one wants to pay for anything they charge. I dont even know that earning figure is true or not but just not a good point to make there buddy.

Not really. WWE spends serious coin on promotion, events, movies and it's internet presence, not to mention the market-leading production values of the television programming, which urinates from a great height on Impact's shabby, dated aesthetic. It's a measure of how much you have to invest to keep a struggling product like professional wrestling in the public eye, and WWE is clearly reaping the rewards because nobody has heard of TNA or would likely care if they had.

Joe: "I'd love for you to tell me what podcasts get over 1.6 million plays."

The ones that don't have "TNA" in the title. Also, those videos with your mom were pretty popular.
