Who is it?
- Ron Simmons is set to be inducted into the 2012 WWE Hall of Fame. Simmons will join Edge, The Four Horsemen, Mil Mascaras, Simmons and Yokozuna, with Mike Tyson in the celebrity wing.

Simmons becoming world champ was a big deal BECAUSE of his skin. If you knew you history you'd know what difficulties black wrestlers had in the old days, and Simmons was given a chance like no one before him.

One name does not belong in that group- Mil Mascaras. He is probably the second biggest Mexican wrestler of all-time, behind El Santo. He has sold more tickets than everybody else in this HoF class combined. Only names such as Hogan, Tsuruta, Baba, Flair and a few others could reasonably go ahead of Mascaras in the all-time rankings. Sure, Macho Man should be in but as has been pointed out, this is Vince's HoF. I'd take it with a grain of salt-those of us who watched Macho Man know how great he was, and that's all that REALLY matters.

I wish the WWE would also say who's inducting who. That's as intriguing for me as the inductee. Will it be Teddy Long inducting Simmons? They have history. I assume Christian will induct Edge ... not sure who will induct Yokozuna. They may go with a family tie on that one I guess. Anyway if any of you doubt Ron Simmons belongs in the HOF you need to study up. He's a legend.

Ron was the very first African-American world champion in wrestling history. Not sure how many of you "fans" actually know that, so I thought I would use my vast knowledge as a REAL fan to let you all know.
Congrats to him, and Yokozuna also, who is too a historical figure as the first heel WWE Champion to hold the Championship as long as he did.

This is definitely one of the better hall of fame classes the WWE has had in years, anyone who doesnt think so clearly doesnt know jack. I will never forget Ron Simmons becoming the first black world heavyweight champion and how truly special a moment it was in the history of this great business.
