See what they had to say!
- JBL & Sean Waltman recently commented on Ron Simmons being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, here is what they had to say…
JBL: "Thrilled that two of my great friends and former tag team partners are going into WWE HOF! Congrats to Barry Windham and Ron Simmons!"
Sean Waltman: "I want to congratulate my friend Ron Simmons on his induction into WWE HOF! Highly respected. Incredibly explosive power. Very believable."

Simmons vs JBL was one of those matches that I'm surprised they never did. I think it was Wrestlemania 21 where JBL had been on a long streak as champ and bragged about how no one could beat him. That's where I would've pulled the trigger on Simmons vs JBL. Instead, we got JBL vs Cena and the rest is history.

He better wear the Farooq gladiator outfit.

Simmons belongs in the HoF for his spinebuster alone.

Waltman is a legend and also deserves a spot in the Hall of Fame.

Or maybe his former manager, Teddy Long. Imagine if he went into "Peanuthead" mode.

I would seriously like to see Bill Watts induct Ron Simmons or JR.

Agreed. I think it was meant to happen somewhere along the line with the way JBL left him hanging with APA to stay on Smackdown in singles competition but unfortunately, it will only be a video game match for fans now. :/

I know, right? When I think of huge dream matches that never happened I usually place a Wrestlemania main event of JBL and Faarooq just above Sting/Undertaker and Shawn Michaels/CM Punk. You renegade matchmaker, you.

So...you would have put a retired midcarder in a world title match over the future of the company? This is before everyone started hating Cena, by the way, and was his first world title win.

Wrestlemania 21 was definitely Cena's time, but I always thought it was a missed opportunity that they didn't have Simmons do a run-in to take out an interfering Orlando Jordan. Would have popped the crowd huge and really paid off the APA break-up angle.

When did Simmons get announced? Did I accidentally fast forward through it on Raw yesterday?
