DDP Talks Possible WWE Return, Wrestlers Using His Yoga, More

DDP speaks…
- DDP was recently interviewed by SportsVibe, here are the highlights…
On Jericho and Others Using His YOGA: "The doctors had told Chris his career was over, he was in too much pain and he had ruptured his lower vertebrae. After starting my program, in three weeks Chris felt a significant difference, just like I did, and in five weeks he was 85 per-cent pain free. After three months he was 95 per-cent pain free. Chris talks about the YRG system, which is part of my DDP work out. There are now a number of wrestlers that are doing it, including Kane, and having that big 290lbs Kane doing DDP yoga is pretty cool. I've got Tazz, Santino Marella and Mick Foley has just started. I don't know if Mick will really keep doing it but if he does it will help. I'm honoured that the only work out Chris is doing is my work out and it's very cool for me because he promotes the hell out of it and I'm not paying him. He's not a spokesperson for the company or anything like that, because let's be honest I couldn't afford Chris Jericho, he's a million dollar guy. "
On a Possible Return: "WWE has this new YouTube channel and I'm signed up on a Legends contract so you may see me on there someday. Not in the ring. I'm done, if I was to do one run it would only because I got so over that they wanted to do something with me. I don't see me coming back to run anymore, my body feels too good."
Any Regrets on His WWE Career?: "I always get people saying to me 'what do you feel about the WWE ruining your career?' and my reaction is always 'what are you talking about?' I worked their for four months and I was in the business for 13 years. I had an amazing run. It didn't end exactly the way I wanted it to, but I learnt a lot of really strong lessons from the way I handled my career in WWE. I wanted to do 'peoples' champion vs. peoples' champion'. That would have made so much money and would have been a whole different outcome with me and The Rock working together. We complemented each other, but that didn't work out and I had that idea two years before I ever went to the WWE. For me not to follow through with a goal is not like me and I never let anyone redirect me. I let that happen, but it taught me not to let anyone take you away from your goals."
Rock v DDP would have owned. Especially if it say happened during the invasion.

DDP was there for a year, not four months, and he was 46 years old at the time he left. He's almost 60 now. Why exactly would he get another run?

Rock vs. DDP was the WCW/WWF fued that SHOULD have happened. Love DDP, one of my favourite wrestlers of all time.

The possibilities are endless. The Undertaker would probably like to bury him a dozen more times to start. He could feud with Michael Cole, JR or Lawler as they get into the ring way too much these days. If the E supports their sheep will buy it, just like they did Ricky Steamboat a few years back.

By the time DDP got to WWE nobody would have cared about Rock burying him.

Except the thing with Ricky is that he still go in the ring and looked damned good while doing it. It gave us the 3-on-1 handicap match and a one-on-one match against Jericho the ppv after WM. Say what you want, man, but at least Ricky looked semi-decent in the ring.

He wasn't wrestling due to injury for a long too though. He's probably referring to the time in which he wasn't hurt.

Would've loved DDP vs Rock. DDP should've started off as a face, and they should've paid for Teen Spirit for his entrance, DDP isn't complete without that song. He's in my Top 3 screw ups WWF did.
I tried some of DDP's yoga, but I can't get over the cheezy diamond cutter stretch he does. I switched to Rodney Yee which I find easier to follow. But kudos to DDP for doing well even after retirement.

The year that DDP and everyone else got the idea of People's Champ vs. People's Champ, it would have been a good story.
After the Jersey Triad and Positively Kanyon and the ponytail and the bullshit watered down end of WCW stuff, I really don't think it would have been worth it.
Not that the Sarah Stalker was better. It certainly wasn't.

So when Jericho says he's fortunate that he never suffered a major injury, he's lying?
I like DDP's WWE run - the stalker angle was cool at the time & "hot" since it was a WCW guy coming over (the first one at that time, right?). Plus, he got a memorable theme song & his motivational speaker gimmick was kinda funny, with Christian to boot.

DDP always kind of annoyed me after he became WCW super face, but he really seems like a good guy, and he's overcome a lot. I mean, didn't he start training for wrestling at 35 or something?
It's really great to see that he seems very happy with life after the ring, and has found himself a niche with his yoga thing.
