WWE News: Vince Says WrestleMania is 'Coming Home,' WM 30 Speculation, More
Posted by Jeremy Thomas on 02.16.2012
Some more news from the press conference...
- Vince McMahon spoke about the first WrestleMania being held at Madison Square Garden during the WrestleMania 29 press conference and said that WrestleMania 29 was "Wrestlemania coming home."
- WWE has not even started considering the location for WrestleMania 30 at this time, and WrestleMania 29 was booked specifically based on the bid that New Jersey gave. New Jersey has been pushing hard to bring major events to MetLife Stadium. As such, there's no idication for or against WrestleMania 30 being at Madison Square Garden at this time.
- ESPN covered the announcement of WrestleMania 29's location here. The AP has also picked up the announcement meaning it will be in newspapers as reports across the nation, and several NYC stations were present meaning it will get a lot of coverage in the metro area.
- CM Punk and Daniel Bryan were not present for the press conference because they were already scheduled for other media events. Sheamus, Mark Henry and The Bellas were used in order to spotlight the company's different community activist programs like Be a Starr and the Wrestlemania Reading program. All of the talent appearing (except Cena) were also picked because they hadn't been on the long trip to and from Abu Dhabi.
Hopefully no WM 30 at MSG. I don't give a damn about tradition I'd rather they not waste 2 Mania's in the NY area. Come to Dallas I'd willingly take the 4 hour drive to see Mania in the second best city in Texas

Lin vs Big Show Madison Square Garden
The Biggest match ever!

WrestleMania 30 to the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. They could break the WrestleMania 3 record if they stack the card. Austin vs. Hogan, Rock vs. Shawn Michaels, Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar. O.K. that's not realistic. But if they put Punk vs. Austin and Undertaker vs. John Cena, with some other great matches, I think they could definitely break the record.

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie who was at this press conference was wanted big time to run for president by the republicans. and this is great publicity for WWE. only thing bigger than that will be when WWE announces Shaq will be at WM28 and it will get media attention from everywhere, especially ESPN and TNT.

If WM 24 and 26 are any indication open roof stadiums are going to have horrible sound. I remember the crowds sounding dead at the 2 respective WM but people that were there said the crowd was pretty lively for both Manias

MSG is annoying to watch a ppv at. The aisle is too small and the arena just looks tiny and packed in. Have it at a big arena.

MSG for 30! There's really no other choice.
Don't care about the drive, the count, the size of the spectacle. It's all about the crowd.
That's what makes MSG MSG. NYC.

I thought that was 2013 and the reason WM is going to NJ. I thought it was open season for 2014

If I had to guess, I would think Toronto has a good shot at being host to WM30. There are very few major cities that will get consideration, and you can almost guarantee it will be a city that has had it before (in Toronto's case, twice). Just my $0.02.

Crowd was very lively at Mania 24, in person, except for the first 10 minutes or so of the Main Event...whether it be drained from a four-hour show or the Mayweather/Show match which preceded it, people were dead for the beginning of Taker/Edge...really a testament to the two of them for winning the crowd back over as they had everyone going by the 15 min mark.
