PWS Promoter Gives Details on Sid Vicious’ No-Show

March 11, 2012 | Posted by Jeremy Thomas

– Pro Wrestling Syndicate promoter Eric “Tapout” has provided WrestleZone with an email explanation as to Sid Vicious’ no-show for their March 9th show, during which he gave out Sid’s personal phone number to the crowd. Tapout said in the email that the no-show was the third time they’d been burned by Sid, which “pushed us over the top,” and provided extensive details on each of the experiences with Sid.

Tapout said that the first incident happened in May 2011, when Sid walked out on a ninety-minute autograph session fifteen minutes in saying “I don’t feel like doing this anymore.” He then wrestled a match with Eddie Kingston which he calls a “major letdown” and said the crowd turned on Sid within thirty seconds. A video of that match in full is below.

The second incident happened due to fans not being pleased with being unable to get Sid’s autograph at the first session. Tapout says Sid was booked for a match on August 20, 2011 as well as two hour-long autograph signings. Side’s flight was not booked until two weeks before the show because Sid said he didn’t know when he would be returning home from an alleged Africa tour that he never attended. A week before the show Sid asked to have his girlfriend flew in as well, and then said a day later not to fly her in but to give him the money for the flight since they agreed to do it. He then contacted them to dispute the autograph signings, saying that he only wanted to do one but wanted the full pay. Sid ended up staying home and the match was rebooked, with the first 300 fans getting a free DVD as compensation.

Tapout says he tried one more time due to fan request, which was the March 9th show. The morning of the show, Sid allegedly called and said that his wallet had been stolen and he needed to cancel his credit cards and couldn’t make the flight. Tapout says he tried to book several big-name talents but none were available. He says the phone number was quickly read before Sid was called in the ring during the show to prove to fans they weren’t false advertising.

He concludes the email with “After all of this, perhaps the most complexing thing to PWS is that fans have still contacted us asking ‘will Sid be at the next show.'” The full email is available at the above link.
