UPDATED: WWE Makes Major Creative Change Prior to Raw
UPDATE: PWInsider reports that Bryan Gewirtz will stay on as a consultant for WWE, providing feedback on the shows. It is believed that WWE cannot release him without paying a penalty, which is why he is remaining on the payroll.
Eric Pankowski, who was hired in February as the Senior Vice President for Creative and Development, has been put in Gewirtz’s position. Pankowski was previously a senior executive at Reveille and Warner Bros. and has been working with Stephanie McMahon since being brought on.
In addition, Ed Koskey will not be on the road anymore and instead will be working out of WWE HQ in Stamford, Connecticut. Talent is not happy about this as Koskey is well-liked and considered to be someone they could relate to while pushing their own ideas.
ORIGINAL: According to WrestlingObserver.com, Vince McMahon was not in a good mood this afternoon before Raw. The fallout was that after working for WWE for over a decade, Brian Gewirtz was removed as the head writer. Gewirtz will remain under contract as a consultant
People backstage are said to be scared, and Vince told the producers today, “I want results or I want resignations.”
