[TV] Colton Haynes Leaving Teen Wolf Posted by Joseph Lee on 10.12.2012
He may have made MTV mad...
US Weekly reports that Colton Haynes will not return for the third season of MTV's Teen Wolf. He played high school student and lacrosse team co-captain Jackson Whittemore ever since the show's premiere in June 2011. After the end of the second season in August, his character became a werewolf.
A source said: "Colton is leaving Teen Wolf. It's not that he didn't want to return because he did. It's that the heads of the show wanted to limit him to only appearing on half the season -- 12 episodes, not 24."
Producers currently are looking for two male twins for season three.
Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the network has denied that Haynes will leave and said there is "absolutely no truth that Colton is being pushed out or that he, or any cast member, is being replaced. We love Colton and look forward to his returning with the entire cast for season 3 of Teen Wolf."
Haynes later tweeted yesterday: "These past few yrs have been the best of my life. I'm sad that this chapter has ended, but excited for a new one to begin. Thanks for the love."
The cast is said to be "devastated". The source added: "They are sad as they had become a family. Colton loves Tyler Hoechlin, Holland Roden and Tyler Posey. They are his best friends. He is upset that he won't be returning . . .He is being forced out of the show."
Haynes would have wanted to continue in the role but "if he did the 12 episodes, he would not be able to work on anything else during the 12 episodes he's not on."
Meanwhile, another source told Perez Hilton: "Colton wants to stay on the show badly. Apparently, [show creator] Jeff Davis is being irrational. He wanted to cut his episodes to 12 instead of 24. And with that, NOT have him in the first 6 or the last 6 eps which makes NO sense unless you don't like someone. It is like death and during those 12 he is not in, they wouldn't let him do a movie or anything else. They are PISSED that Colton did the Leona Lewis video… since MTV doesn't do videos anymore."
