Sunday, October 14, 2012. From the Knoxville Civic Coliseum in Knoxville, TN, it's the RAW Supershow house show!
Matt Striker has hype duties for the night. Comes out and announces Cena will not be there due to an injury and refunds were available until the end of the second match.
AJ comes out to address the crowd. Almost immediately cut off by CM Punk. Punk asks the crowd if they want the good news or the bad news first. Then he asks again "in a language you people will understand". He asks again in an exaggerated redneck voice (I was probably only one in my section to cheer at this point).
Punk says because Cena was not there then Punk had the night off. AJ told him either fight Ryback or be stripped of the WWE title. Punk shows his anger/frustration as AJ skips away.
Match numero uno: Primetime Players v Team Hell No(c) for the WWE Tag Team Championship
-Hell No came out to great ovation. YES chants were not that strong though. Bryan actually posed for a picture with a poster before ripping it in half. PTP came out doing the gator chomp (Tennessee has lost like 8 in a row to UF and Titus played college football against Tennessee messiah Peyton Manning) for some cheap heat. This was a pretty solid match with Bryan/Kane doing their comedic spots nearly costing them the match. Ended with Bryan countering Young into the No Lock for the victory.
Winners and STILL tag champs: Team Hell No... NO! I AM THE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS!
Match #2: Intercontinental Championship: The Miz(c) v Santino
-Santino got a good reaction while Miz's was rather mild. Miz hit the skull crushing finale for the win. Went for a post match beatdown but Kofi made the save.
Winner and still IC champ: Miz
Match #3: Layla v Kaitlyn
-Crowd didn't react well to either women very well. "Boring" chants were thrown out. Pretty slow paced match. No complaints from me, the longer I get to watch half naked women the better! I thought it was OK for a divas match. Layla wins with a kick to the head.
Match #4: World Heavyweight Championship: Big Show v Sheamus(c)
-Fans allegedly voted for last man standing match. Big Show had some good heat, Sheamus received a good ovation. This was a pretty slow moving match. Not a hoss fight like I was expecting. Sheamus had a few close losses, but picks up the win by countering the WMD with the brogue kick. Sheamus hitting White Noise was rather impressive.
Winner and STILL World Heavyweight Champion: Sheamus
"Special Attraction" match: Kofi Kingston vs Justin Gabriel
-Surprised to get a second face vs. face match. No real reaction for Gabriel(he did point back at me when I threw up the horns when he was looking out at the crowd). Kofi out to a good pop. Match itself was solid, both men showed off their athleticism and I really enjoyed it. Match ended when Gabriel sprung into the air only to be met with Trouble in Paradise. Gabriel left the ring and Kofi waved him back in. They shook hands and left.
Winner: Kofi Kingston
Match #6 Rhodes Scholars vs. Brodus Clay & Sin Cara
- Sin Cara got the best reaction once in the ring. Crowded reacted very well to Rhodes Scholars, mostly to Sandow. Rhodes asked for silence while him and Sandow removed their robes. Brodus and Cara mock it(be a star eh?) Decent match overall. Sandow's mannerisms were great. Cara gets the pinfall after hitting the senton. Kids get in the ring as Brodus' music hits.
Winners: Brodus Clay and Sin Cara
Match #7: WWE Championship: Ryback vs. CM Punk(c)
-Big ovation for Ryback. Punk had mixed reaction but more boos than cheers. Punk said he doesn't suck because he's not from Knoxville. Plenty of heat on Punk during the match. Ryback held his own as Punk got an acceptable match out of him. Match ended when Punk was taken to the floor. As Ryback leaned down to grab him Punk hit him with a chair for the DQ.
Although, STILL WWE Champion: CM Punk
Punk began air guitaring with the chair as Ryback's music played. Ryback did a post match beat down to send the crowd home happy.
