He's a huge fan...
Digital Spy reports that in an interview with Q magazine, the Manic Street Preachers offered to record Wade Barrett's next WWE theme song.
Barrett is a fan of the Welsh band and even has a "Culture, Alienation, Boredom and Despair" tattoo, which quotes the band's 1992 song "Little Baby Nothing".
MSP singer James Dean Bradfield said: "Let's just put this out there - if you're listening Wade Barrett we will do your f**king theme tune - just get in touch. That would be the ultimate Situationist, bizarrist spectacle wouldn't it? Us being played over the airwaves in some Enormodome in front of 20,000 mad Yanks in Colorado somewhere..."
Barrett then wrote on Twitter: "That last link was JDB from The Manic Street Preachers offering to record my theme song. Mind: Blown."
Barrett also quotes lyrics from "Faster" on his Twitter bio. He added to Digital Spy: "I've been into the Manics 10 or 15 years. I got into them in the middle of Britpop and worked backwards from there. I'm a huge fan of their music. I think they're great musicians, and lyrically I think they're the best band I've ever heard. They're a very intellectual band and the subjects they write about I think are great. They did an interview last week where they were asked about my tattoo, 'Have you heard of Wade Barrett from the WWE?' and they said, 'Yeah, we love his tattoo, we'd actually love to write his theme music'. So hopefully, fingers crossed, over the next weeks and months we can get something working on that. I've let the guys in the WWE in the musical department know about it and they're going to get in touch with the Manics. So fingers crossed we'll get some new theme music in soon."
The band released a deluxe anniversary reissue of their debut album Generation Terrorists this week.
