I attended the TNA house show at the Mid-Hudson Civic Center in Poughkeepsie, NY tonight. My buddies and I spent the extra money on the VIP tickets which got us in at 5:30 and a pre-show meet greet with Austin Aries, Tag champs Chavo & Super Mex, Tara, Mr. Pectacular, and CJames storm. All were very personable.

At 6:30 PM, everyone else entered the arena and they brought out Robbie E. for a signing and picture if you bought his glasses.

The show began at 7:30 with Robbie E vs. Mr. Pectacular, Jesse Godderz. They did a dance off and then had a pretty short match with Jesse going over after Tara’s distractions.

Next up was Devon vs. James Storm in a match that entertainingly went back and forth. Doc was out with Devon and caused the end with his interference. They beat down Storm until Samoa Joe came out for the save, which led to an impromptu tag match between all parties with the faces going over.

Next was Austin Aries vs. Bully Ray. Big time comedy bits by both guys with Bully ultimately getting the win.
Then came intermission, at which point Earl Hebner received some praise for having reffed more than 100,000 matches. Many kudos to him. He was selling his shirt at the merch table and signing them as well.

We returned to a TNA Tag Team title match with the challengers being Matt Morgan and Joey Ryan. They meshed OK but the crowd didn’t seem to overly care for Chavo and Hernandez except when Chavo mentioned his late uncle Eddie Guerrero.

The main event up saw Jeff hardy defending the TNA title against Bobby Roode. Bobby worked hard, working over Jeff’s arm and giving him a good beating before Jeff’s comeback and win with The Twist of Fate to send everyone home happy.

Notes: Pics were available with the champ afterwards in the ring for $20…I was a bit disappointed compared to my experience the last time TNA was here…. Advertised but not appearing were Kurt Angle (out with groin injury), AJ Styles and Daniels…..No backstage passes gimmick anymore….The Brown bag special was $30 for t-shirts, four DVDs and a program, action figure and bag. Still a great deal!
