UPDATED: Hulk Hogan Drops Sex Tape Lawsuit Against Gawker

January 3, 2013 | Posted by Jeremy Thomas

UPDATE: Hold the phone on that whole “lawsuit dropped” thing. TMZ reports that Hulk Hogan has now refiled his $100 million lawsuit against Gawker for posting his sex tape.

As previously reported, Hogan had the lawsuit dismissed without prejudice, which gave him the option to refile. He has now done so and included Heather Clem, his sex tape partner who he says played a role in leaking the tape. Hogan’s lawyer says the federal case was dismissed in order to consolidate the claims against Heather and Gawker into one suit, which means less paperwork and attorney’s fees.

ORIGINAL Hulk Hogan has dropped his $100 million lawsuit over the leak of his sex tape. TMZ reports that Hogan dismissed the lawsuit without prejudice, which means that he can refile if he so desires. The lawsuit was filed against Gawker for posting a clip of the tape online, which depicted him having sex with Bubba the Love Sponge’s wife Heather Clem over six years ago.

That is the last of the legal cases around the sex tape leak; Hogan has also sued Bubba but that lawsuit was settled. Hogan’s reason for dropping the lawsuit was not specified.
