WWE alumnus will play Drax the Destroyer...
- After weeks of rumors, Batista has officially been cast in Guardians of the Galaxy. THR reports that Batista will play Drax the Destroyer in Marvel Studios' big-budget franchise starter. Drax was originally a human named Arthur Douglas whose family was attacked and killed by Thanos. Kronos then took Arthur's spirit and placed it in a new superpowered body, recreating him as a warrior hellbent on revenge.
Batista joins Chris Pratt, who will play Star-Lord in the film. The movie is being directed by James Gunn and will be released on August 1st, 2014.
