Just a few notes about those WrestleMania 1-15 DVD's that were re-released this week. There are some very strange things about them.
First off, none of them have any artwork on the discs. They are just plain blank discs with the name of the event printed in small letters on the inside ring of the disc.
1-14 are exactly the same as the Anthology releases from 2005 complete with all the "WWF" editing and blurring. A weird thing is that those DVD's also include the "Don't Try This At Home" video. Not the current one that is shown on all recent DVD releases, but the one that was released on the Anthology back in 2005 and Chris Benoit is prominently featured. For a company that goes out of their way to edit out Chris Benoit matches, and even edit out commentators mentioning his name, I find that to be very sloppy to not catch that.
Also, since these are exact reprints of the Anthology, Manias 4-7 are double sided discs since those were 4 hour PPV's. You have to flip the disc over to watch the rest of the show.
As for Mania 15, this is an updated release, not from the Anthology. There is no "WWF" blurring or editing. However there are some new edits. Whenever someone is being choked, like during The Rock vs Austin and Undertaker vs. Bossman matches, they cut away to a crowd shot and don't show it. Yup, straight out of Saturday Morning Slam.
The post-match angle where Taker and the Brood hung the Bossman from the Cell is completely removed.
One other strange thing about the Mania 15 release is that the spine on the cover has a picture of Bret Hart vs Shawn Michaels from WrestleMania 12. That is just complete laziness and incompetence to not catch that.
Overall if I was someone looking to buy the old WrestleManias I would totally avoid these releases. It is actually cheaper right now to buy the Anthology volumes than it is to buy these individually.
