After one month away meeting with lawyers and arm wrestling Canadian politicians, TNA GM “The Immortal” Hulk Hogan returns to Impact Wrestling this week and there’s a 100000% chance he has something to say regarding Bully Ray regaining the World Title. But Ray may not even have his head in the game after what happened last week when The Main Event Mafia, alongside new (and less moody) member AJ Styles, defeated his Aces & Eights in the main event and ousted his brother Devon from the company. Ray is no doubt reeling from what happened and someone will be feeling the repercussions be it someone in TNA…or someone in his own gang. The Bound For Glory Series also nears its end this week as this “Must Win Thursday” features three matches: Jeff Hardy Vs. Frankie Kazarian, Austin Aries Vs. Christopher Daniels, and AJ Styles Vs. Bobby Roode. With two weeks to go until “No Surrender”, the final four will be etched in stone after this week. In short this is gonna be a very busy two hours so hang onto your butts.

Miss Tessmacher is shown walking backstage. She finds Bully Ray and says he has her and the World Title so how bad could anything be? Ray simply says “let’s go to the ring” and they walk off.

—–

PREVIOUSLY ON IMPACT: Austin Aries turns down E.G.O.’s offer, Bully Ray reveals Miss Tessmacher as his new main squeeze, AJ Styles joins The Main Event Mafia and sends Devon packing.

—–

We cut live to the arena and pan the crowd as Mike Tenay welcomes the home audience and runs down the big things to come on the show. The Aces & Eights Theme hits, bringing out Bully Ray flanked by Tito Ortiz and the rest of The (remaining) Aces & Eights. Ray feigns slapping hands with a down syndrome fan down the ramp but doesn’t because he’s a HEEL.

Ray yells for the music to be shut off. He says he’s in a really really bad mood due to Devon no longer being a part of TNA due to last week’s events. Ray says he’s concerned and upset, and wants some answers right now…from The Aces & Eights. Ray goes to Garett Bischoff first and asks what happened last week. Bischoff says he doesn’t know and he’s just as mad about what happened as Ray is. Ray goes to Knux next and asks what happened. Knux says he was on the floor taking care of Magnus and Rampage so he did his job, which Ray agrees about. Ray asks Wes Brisco next and Brisco merely says he doesn’t know. Mr. Anderson is up next. Anderson grabs the mic and says he doesn’t know but Devon knew what the consequences were just as they did. Anderson says “it is what it is” and hands the mic back to Ray. Ray says he agrees with him, it is what it is…it is a DISAPPOINTMENT. Ray says Devon has always been a disappointment, a loser, and merely his co-star and sidekick. Ray says Devon did what he told him to do and he never needed Devon and never will again. Ray points to Ortiz and says that’s the only person he needs. Out with Devon, in with Tito.Ray says he’s going to give Ortiz his own kutte and Anderson instantly grabs a mic. He asks if Ray is out of his mind and wonders why it’s not being put up to a vote. Ray says he’s the President and Anderson better get in line before he puts him in line. Ray calls out for his hot Brooke.

Miss Tessmacher makes his way out, kutte in hand. Bischoff holds the ropes open for Tessmacher to enter. She kisses Ray and hands him the kutte. Ray holds it out for Ortiz but before he can get it, Anderson gets in the way and protests. Ray pushes Anderson into the corner and tells him to stay. Ortiz puts on the kutte, officially a patched in member of The Aces & Eights. Ray rips off the name patch of Devon off the kutte and throws it on the canvas. Ray says what’s done is done and if anyone has a problem with it they can get out. Ray then brings up that his “father-in-law” is here tonight and he can’t wait to see him. Ray says he wants to introduce Hulk to the “only Brooke that has ever mattered” in his life. The Aces & Eights Theme hits to conclude the segment.

Mike Tenay goes through the three BFG Series matches to come, with Hardy/Kazarian up first.

Jeff Hardy is shown backstage. He says last year he beat Samoa Joe to get into the final four and this time around it’s Kazarian. He brings up that Kazarian beat him earlier in the series and tonight he’s out for revenge and for (bound for) glory. Hardy yells for his creatures to MOUNT UP as we go to commercial.

Tenay runs down the BFG Standings while a shot of the leaderboard is shown. We then cut to the arena where Christy Hemme introduces Frankie Kazarian out for the opening contest. Tenay says Hogan has decreed that no interference is allowed during E.G.O.’s matches tonight or they’ll lose their spot. His opponent, Jeff Hardy makes his way out second.

Match #1: Jeff Hardy Vs. Frankie Kazarian in a BOUND FOR GLORY SERIES MATCH

Kazarian immediately goes for a roll-up for 2 and Hardy responds with one of his own for the same result. Both men exchange quick pinfall attempts once more than stare at one another in a stalemate. Kazarian catches Hardy with a right hand and whips him into the corner. Hardy floats up and takes Kazarian out to the floor with a headscissors. Hardy kicks Kazarian through the ropes then launches off the apron, taking him out with a flying clothesline. Hardy slaps hands with the ringside fans then rolls Kazarian back in. Hardy goes for the Twist of Fate but Kazarian escapes and ends up crotching Hardy on the top rope during another headscissors attempt in the corner. Kazarian follows up with an enziguri to the back of the head then mocks Hardy’s entrance dance. Kazarian whips Hardy into the ropes and connects with a spinning heel kick for a 2-count.

Kazarian immediately transitions into a submission, pulling Hardy’s arms behind his back while digging his knee into the spine. They get to their feet and Hardy tries to fight out but Kazarian sends him to the mat via the hair. Kazarian drops the leg and covers for the 1…2…kickout. Kazarian attempts a suplex, but Hardy blocks it and connects with a sitout front-faceslam. Both men get up and Hardy mounts his comeback, hitting his atomic drop/legdrop combo. Hardy then tries to lock in a figure four but it looks just as good as The Miz’s so it’s not exactly a figure four. Kazarian breaks the hold by grabbing the bottom rope.

Hardy goes for the Twist of Fate but Kazarian reverses into a backslide for the 1…2…kickout. Kazarian connects with a bicycle kick to the jaw and covers again for the 1…2…kickout. Kazarian attempts a second-rope move but Hardy catches him and hits the Twist of Fate. Hardy takes the shirt off and launches off the top with the SWANTON for the 1…2…3!

Winner [via Pinfall]: Jeff Hardy (6:09)

—–

We go back to the leaderboard and Jeff Hardy is now in third place.

—–

We catch up with The Aces & Eights backstage. Garett Bischoff asks what Bully Ray’s problem is concerning his dismissal of Devon. Mr. Anderson asks if they voted on not voting anymore. Wes Brisco whines something inaudible (to me) and Knux says that the vote works and they should keep it. Anderson says if things keep going this way they’re gonna have another vote and Bully isn’t going to like it. Anderson says no one man is bigger than the club and they cling beer bottles in agreement.

Kim senses blood and goes right at the limb but ODB shoves her into the corner and rolls her up for 2. Kim immediately goes back on the knee and wrenches it with a back heel trip. Kim rolls out and smashes the back of ODB’s knee on the apron. ODB gets to her knees and fights back but Kim kicks her leg out from under her and applies a sort-of Cloverleaf/Sharpshooter combo. Kim goes to crouch but falls over, but it works because it adds more punishment. ODB finally taps. [[Gail Kim: 1, ODB: 0]]. The second fall is next.

The backstage interviewer catches up with Velvet Sky backstage. She has nothing but nice things to say about ODB then pimps the Knockouts One Night Only PPV. The interviewer then asks why Sky didn’t show up at HardCORE Justice. Sky says it broke her heart that she couldn’t be there but she had issues to tend to. The interviewer brings up Chris Sabin as a reason and she says they are together and have been for quite a long time, but that’s not why. She calls the interviewer clever and walks off.

—–

Christopher Daniels is in panic mode backstage but Bobby Roode calms him down. Roode says he’ll take care of AJ while Daniels takes care of Aries. Daniels trash talks Aries for turning them down, saying he’s no gentleman, and says he’s going to handle this right now. Daniels walks off while Roode picks up the Appletini.

Jeremy Borash is backstage with Austin Aries. Aries does a Bel Biv Devoe rap then says he’s a man that stands alone. Aries insinuates that he will face AJ Styles in the finals, then in comes Christopher Daniels. STORYLINE RECAP: MEM Vs. Aces & Eights

—–

The Main Event Mafia Has Something to Say…and So Does AJ Styles

Samoa Joe leads the way as he, Sting, and Rampage Jackson make their way to the ring. No AJ and no Magnus. Jackson is first on the mic. He brings up Tito Ortiz’s cheap shot with the hammer from two weeks ago. Jackson says he wants Ortiz to know he’s not waiting for November 2nd for payback and every chance he gets he’s going to stomp a mudhole in his ass. Jackson says Ortiz better watch out and hands the mic to Joe. Joe namedrops the city and the crowd cheers and chants his name. Joe says the mafia runs this town tonight. Joe says things were different last week as they were outnumbered, manned, and maneuvered and no one seemed like they were going to step up…until AJ Styles came out and did the right thing. Sting is up next on the mic and says anyone willing to step up and help the Mafia is welcome in the family. He invites Styles to come out so they can thank him and potentially welcome him into the fold. An “AJ” chant breaks out.

AJ Styles makes his way out to his “Lone Wolf” music, then his actual music hits and he switches gears. His hair is now cut down and he’s shaved down a bit. Styles gets on the mic and says while he appreciates The MEM being out here he needs to do this himself. The MEM exit the ring, leaving Styles to say his piece. Styles says while he respects what The MEM is doing and he hopes they kick The Aces & Eights’ butt, the suit and tie just isn’t him. Styles says it isn’t their fault and over the past year he’s developed some trust issues. Styles says the only person he can trust is Allen Jones (his real name). Styles says he is with NO ONE. Styles then addresses why he changed, and he says he changed along with his perception in the business but make no mistake he is better than the best in the world. Styles says although he loves what he does in the ring, the job itself sucks. Styles says at one point, everyone has been shafted at their job. Styles says he’s realized over the past year that he deserves better, yelling at both Mike Tenay and (through the camera) Dixie Carter. Styles says he’s been here for 11 years picking up the pieces whenever TNA’s next big thing or new direction has failed. Styles said he’s prayed to be fired over the past year but instead he stayed here and did his job because he has a family he needs to support. Styles said he just showed up and made people tap out but over the past few months something clicked: he liked being the “go-to” dependable guy who can steal the show. Styles says he can still be the go-to guy and hold the company on his shoulders. Styles then says the question that remains is if he can win the BFG Series and become the new World Champion. Styles drops the mic and his upcoming opponent, Bobby Roode, makes his way out. This match is next.

Match #3: AJ Styles Vs. Bobby Roode in a BOUND FOR GLORY SERIES MATCH

Roode grabs a side headlock and transitions into a hammerlock. Styles reverses into a hammerlock of his own and goes for the Calf Killer but Roode grabs the ropes and bails out of the ring. Roode gets back in the ring and kicks Styles in the gut. He sends him into the corner and lays in with a knife-edge chop. Styles reverses an Irish whip but runs into a back elbow. Styles responds with a hard chop and a dropkick off the Irish whip. Styles poses for the crowd then hits a moonsault off the ramp and onto Roode. Styles rolls Roode back in and connects with a backbreaker, immediately transitioning into a brief camel clutch. Roode breaks it and backs Styles into the corner. Styles attempts a Tornado DDT but Roode flings him off, landing a spinebuster when Styles tries to regroup with another move.

Roode stomps the fallen Styles and drops the knee for a 1-count. Roode drives the knee into Styles’ spine then connects with a vertical suplex for 1. Roode bends Styles’ arms back and digs the knee into the spine to wear him down. Styles fights back with his flurry of strikes, ending in a clothesline that drives both men to the mat. Styles connects with a Stinger Splash in the corner then heads to the top. He jumps over Roode and catches him with a standing spinebuster. Styles hits a Lionsault and immediately goes for the submission after he realizes a pinfall wouldn’t work. Styles ducks a clothesline and decks Roode with a Pele kick. Styles attempts the Styles Clash but Roode dumps him out to the ramp. Styles hits a shoulderblock to the midsection and attempts a springboard move but Roode catches him and turns it into the CROSSFACE. Styles gets his foot on the bottom rope to break the hold. Roode drags Styles to the center and reapplies it but Styles counters with a roll-up for 2. Styles follows up and applies the CALF KILLER. Roode gets to the bottom rope to force the break.

Styles gets sent into the corner and Roode goes for the fisherman’s suplex but Styles counters with a roll-up for the 1…2…3! Styles is disappointed.

The Return of Hulk Hogan

The “nWo Japan” theme hits, bringing out GM Hulk Hogan to a loud ovation. Hogan soaks in the adulation which the Cleveland crowd is not shy about giving him. Hogan says it sounds like everyone missed him while he was gone and the crowd cheers (I, erm, don’t). Hogan says he’s been a really busy guy over the past few weeks and while he’s been gone TNA has been tearing it up. Hogan says it’s great to be back in Cleveland and namedrops his sneakers.

Hogan’s first order of business: The BFG Series. Hogan says he’s changed the game a little bit and there will be one more match next in the series. Hogan announces a gauntlet match for 20 points featuring all 12 members of the series.

Before he can get to his next order of business, out comes Bully Ray along with Miss Tessmacher. Ray calls for the music to shut off and sarcastically says he missed him a lot and that it hasn’t been the same without him. Ray says a lot has gone on since Hogan left and holds up the World Heavyweight Title. Ray tries to introduce him to Tessmacher but Hogan interrupts and shuts it down. Hogan mocks Tessmacher then says he’s been taking care of both wrestling and personal business. Hogan throws a set of divorce papers at Ray and says his daughter is moving on whether he wants it to happen or not.

Ray says he doesn’t care about the divorce papers and he never cared about his daughter. Ray said he used Brooke to get the World Heavyweight Title. Ray says he also used Hulk and Sting to get exactly what he wanted. Hogan responds and asks Ray if he knows who he is. Hogan asks Ray once again (throwing in a “brother”) and says he’s going to give Ray something he will care about. Hogan says he’s going to use Ray and The Aces & Eights because in two weeks Ray is going to defend the World Heavyweight Title against one of his Aces & Eights family members!

Ray, in disbelief, says Hulk can’t do that and he refuses to accept it. Hulk says he runs the show and in two weeks he’s going to defend the belt against one of the Aces & Eights family members. He then says Ray will defend the belt this week (I think he meant next week) against…Sting! Sting comes out and brawls with Ray as we fade to Fightmaster.
