Championship Roll Call:
TNA WORLD CHAMPION: AJ Styles
TNA X-DIVISION CHAMPION: Chris Sabin
TNA TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS: The Bro-Mans (Robbie E and Jessie Godderz)
TNA KNOCKOUTS CHAMPION: Gail Kim

Four days removed from their biggest show of the year TNA presents the fallout of BOUND FOR GLORY 2013 this week on IMPACT WRESTLING, featuring a World Title rematch as AJ Styles defends against the man he defeated for the title on Sunday Bully Ray. With TNA President Dixie Carter up in arms over Styles’ title win one has to wonder just what she has up her sleeve for the man she calls “The Marginal One”. And after suffering an injury scare towards the end of his match against Bobby Roode, the same night that he turned down his big HOF induction, Kurt Angle will appear to discuss what happened and his plan going forward. In addition new Tag Team Champions The Bro Mans have promised to celebrate their title win in style deep in the heart of Mormon country. Should be a good time, and a potential new dawn for TNA, on this edition of IMPACT WRESTLING.

A narrator runs through the big stories from Bound For Glory, including all of the title changes and Kurt Angle declining his HOF induction/losing to Bobby Roode. Naturally the video ends with AJ Styles standing tall as the new TNA World Heavyweight Champion.

—–

We go live to Salt Lake City as Mike Tenay welcomes the home crowd and runs down the big events to come tonight, focusing on Styles/Ray II for the World Title. After some brief panning of the crowd out comes TNA President Dixie Carter to open the show, carrying a black box in her left hand. Carter steps in the ring, where the canvas is draped in red, a table is full of merch, and a “Welcome Back, AJ Styles!” sign behind her. Carter says this is her way of making it up to the man who overcame all of the odds at BFG, a man she’s so proud to call her World Champion: AJ Styles.

Styles makes his way out, hood up and title around his right shoulder. The crowd gives him a warm welcome as he makes his way to the ring, stopping briefly in the entrance area to raise the title up high. WHERE’S THE RAMP? AWWWW. Styles heads into the ring and poses with the title some more and Carter attempts a hug but he just stares at her. Carter says she understands that Styles doesn’t get it yet and doesn’t expect him to. Carter says this is working out perfectly because for the last six weeks she has been “motivating” him to glory. Carter tells Styles he was in a slump for the past year and thanks to her brilliance, he is now the champion and she is ready to “pay”. Carter says she’s gonna start with a nice dressing room (2nd only to hers) with filet mignon and other rich people things, then opens the black box revealing a watch. Carter says she got this used on Craigslist and she picked it out herself. Carter then says she has saved the very best for last and we go to the entrance area to see a brand-new car get revealed. Carter asks Styles if they’re ready to move forward now.

Styles says he’s not buying her attempts at manipulation through nice things and dressing rooms. Styles tells Carter she’s going to wish it was this easy and says he’s a truck guy so the car isn’t going to work for him. Styles says he has earned everything in the business and the last thing he wants to do is have his own private dressing room because he doesn’t want to be separated from the others who helped build this company. Styles says this could have been avoided months ago but she bet against him…and lost. Carter says she knows he’s angry at her still for Sunday then says that he doesn’t even have to wrestle Bully Ray tonight. Carter says they can escape this godforsaken town via her private jet to go somewhere fun. Carter says all Styles has to do is agree that they’re going to move forward on this together. If he does that Carter promises to cancel the main event.

The Aces & Eights Theme hits and out comes former champ Bully Ray. He’s got something to say…right after the commercial!

-Commercial Break-

Bully Ray is now in the ring as we return from the commercial. Ray says he didn’t travel all the way to “Salt CRAP City” just to get his title shot taken away. Styles tells everyone to shut up because they’re going to want to hear what he has to say. Styles says he’s champ while Ray’s the challenger and Ray will get his turn. Styles says if Carter thinks he’s going to fly off in her private jet then she’s dumber than everyone thought she was. Styles mentions he’s not under contract then says he came to Salt Lake City to defend the Heavyweight Title because that’s what a champion does. Styles promises to beat Ray tonight and there’s nothing he can do about it. Ray reminds Styles he ain’t fightin’ Dixie Carter…Styles is fighting him. Ray calls Styles’ title win on Sunday “lucky” because there’s no way a kid like Styles could ever beat a man like him. Ray says Earl Hebner was the one to blame as he kicked out of Styles’ Spiral Tap but Hebner kept counting. Ray says that’s the only fathomable way Styles could have beat him. Ray says he’s tired of hearing himself talk so here’s what’s going to go down: he’s going to take his World Title back tonight and sending Styles back home to his ugly wife and three kids. Ray says in the pro wrestling business Styles is nothing but a boy while he’s a god. Ray says if god was a bully he’d be Bully Ray.

Styles says Ray should be concerned about his family, The Aces & Eights, as they couldn’t help him at BFG and won’t help him tonight. Styles says when he’s done beating Ray he’s going to celebrate with his fans and say “DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM? I’M THE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION: THE PHENOMENAL ONE, A…J…STYLES!”. Ray hits Styles with a sucker punch and starts beating him with pieces of the Welcome Back AJ set. Ray clears off the table and goes to powerbomb Styles through it but out go the lights. The music of Mr. Anderson hits and out he runs to the ring. Anderson and Ray start brawling in the center of the ring. Anderson hits a series of rights in the corner mount then Ray bails while he poses in the ring a bit. Anderson looks to the crowd as we go to commercial.

We go back live and Mr. Anderson now has a mic. Anderson says he’s really missed everyone and asks if they missed him too (the crowd cheers). Anderson says he’s really really really reallyreallyreally missed Bully Ray. He asks the crowd if they think Ray missed him just as much. Anderson spins his head around and says his neck feels good. He then asks the crowd how their neck feels (uhhhh). Anderson says he’s spent the past few months watching Ray’s antics week after week and everyone from the fans to the agents in the back are getting sick and tired of it. Anderson asks the crowd if they’re sick and tired of it (crowd approves). A “YES!” chant breaks out. Ha.

Anderson continues for a bit longer but out comes Dixie Carter and Atlas Security to interrupt. She says Anderson is not part of her show and tells her security team to get in the ring and put him in handcuffs. He takes out one of the security guys then allows himself to be handcuffed (what?). The security team lead Anderson down the entrance aisle as Carter looks on. Anderson yells his goodbyes to the fans then stares at Carter, who says he’s not authorized to be here. Carter tells him to get out and out he goes.

—–

We cut to the announce table as Tenay and Taz hype the World Title rematch. Taz isn’t happy to see the return of Mr. Anderson. Tenay segues into the BFG weekend Kurt Angle had and announces that “The Olympic Gold Medalist” will address the crowd. After a shot of Angle entering the ring we then awkwardly segue into a recap of the Knockouts triple threat at BFG, which Gail Kim won thanks to Lei’D Tapa.

—–

Lei’D Tapa makes her way out to her own theme, then out comes her charge Knockouts Champion Gail Kim. Tenay says Knockouts Tag Team action happens right after the commercial.

Gail Kim’s tag team partner, Brooke Tessmacher, makes her way out as we return from the commercial break. Why isn’t Lei’D Tapa teaming with Kim? Their opponents, Velvet Sky & ODB, make their way out second.

—–

Match #1: ODB & Velvet Sky Vs. *TNA Knockouts Champion* Gail Kim [w/ Lei’D Tapa] & Brooke Tessmacher

Kim and Tessmacher argue about who should start, but ODB makes the decision for them by pulling in the latter via the hair. ODB sends Tesmacher into the corner and hits the Bronco Buster. Tessmacher fights back, pulling ODB out to the floor. After some strikes she rolls ODB back in and tags out to Kim. Kim gets some kicks in and ODB fights back with elbows. Kim pushes ODB into the heel corner and tags Tessmacher back in. Tessmacher rips at ODB’s mouth then continues the assault. Tessmacher connects with forearms in the corner then goes into the corner mount to thrust her crotch but instead ODB throws her off. Wrestling always wins.

Sky and Kim both tag in, the former taking it right to the Knockouts Champ. Sky connects with a tilt-a-whirl headscissors then follows up with a series of kicks and a running neckbreaker for the 1…2…Tessmacher breaks the count. ODB runs in and spears Tessmacher, flask in hand. ODB and Tessmacher fight out to the floor and Kim tries to bring a chair into the ring. This distracts the ref, allowing Tapa to enter the ring and take Sky out with a big boot. Kim rolls in and covers Sky for the 1…2…3!

Winners [via Pinfall]: Gail Kim & Brooke Tessmacher (3:36)

New Tag Champs The Bro Mans are in the bathroom combing their hair and talking about their weeklong celebration since winning the belts. Robbie E says the biggest cele-BRO-tion has yet to happen. Robbie E yells “BOOOOM!” while spraying a month’s worth of hairspray into his hair while Jessie Godderz blowdries his.

—–

We go back live to the ring as Ethan Carter III makes his way out for the next match (featuring an awkward mic issue with Christy Hemme that was unintentionally funny). Carter arrogantly poses in the ring waiting for his opponent: Dewey Barnes. He’s scrawny and looks like Macklemore.

—–

Match #2: Dewey Barnes Vs. Ethan Carter III

Barnes gets the crowd clapping as they circle one another. Carter grabs a waistlock and throws Barnes to the mat with ease. Barnes regroups in the corner then gets re-hyped. Carter grabs another waistlock but Barnes reverses into one his own. They trade waistlocks until Carter backs Barnes into the corner. Carter clubs Barnes down in the corner then stomps a mudhole in him. Carter chops Barnes then hits a running boot. Barnes walks over and Carter just tosses him down, a smile across his face. EC3 is awesome. Carter circles Barnes and picks him up, and Barnes fights back with a series of jabs. Barnes hits some running forearms and heads to the top, connecting with a missile dropkick for the…EC3 already kicks out. Barnes goes for an Irish whip but Carter reverses into a side headlock heading into the HEADLOCK DRIVER for the 1…2…3.

Winner [via Pinfall]: Ethan Carter III (2:36)

POST-MATCH: Carter makes the ref push the lifeless body of Barnes out of the ring then gets his hand raised in victory. Carter grabs a mic and says he’s a Carter and the world needs them. Carter poses some more and Taz kisses ass.

BOUND FOR GLORY RECAP: Magnus makes Sting tap, then acts like a sore winner. A post-match interview from Sting reveals that he hopes the match wasn’t in vein.

—–

Sting and Magnus meet backstage earlier today. Magnus all but apologizes for his behavior after his win. Sting says he wonders if he passed the torch or lit a fire under Magnus…or both. Magnus says this is Sting’s world and he’s just living in it and they shake hands.

BOUND FOR GLORY RECAP: Kurt Angle turns down his HOF induction.

—–

Kurt Angle Speaks

Kurt Angle makes his way out to a warm reception from the Salt Lake City crowd. Tenay and Taz put over his match against Bobby Roode at BFG and how Angle was knocked out due to a top-rope Angle Slam. Tenay says Angle tore knee cartilage during his moonsault during the match. Angle says last weekend was a tough weekend for him to forget and he has all sorts of emotions going through his head right now. Angle says that he could not accept the HOF induction because he has much more to prove, and when the time comes he will take his rightful place in the hallowed halls. Angle shifts gears to his match with Roode, saying it was one of the most physical matches he’s had in his life and it took a toll on his body.

Angle says he knocked himself out with the last move of the match but that diatribe is interrupted by Bobby Roode himself. Roode and Angle stare one another down in the center of the ring. Roode says it’s pathetic hearing Angle make excuse after excuse and says the real reason he declined his HOF induction was because he knew he could not beat Roode. Roode tells Angle that declining the HOF was a wise choice because he did beat him, fair and square, in the middle of the ring (it was more towards the top of the ring but that’s just splitting hairs). Roode says that two years ago he failed against Angle in the main event of BFG ’11 and he lived with that feeling of failure in his guts this whole time but now it’s Angle’s turn. Angle says Roode might be one bad S.O.B. but he’s not better than him. Angle says he’s not going to make excuses; instead he wants a match RIGHT NOW.

Roode asks Angle if he wants to do it right now and takes off the blazer. Roode says he would love to wrestle Angle right now…but he can’t. Actually Angle can’t and he hands him a note. Roode says it’s a doctor’s note that says Angle is not cleared to compete tonight (the crowd understandably boos). Roode says as much as he would love to kick Angle’s ass again right here and right now, he’s just simply not allowed. Angle says Roode’s right and he’s not medically-cleared to wrestle but the doctor never said anything about fight. Angle decks Roode and the two brawl until the security team separates the two.

Bully Ray is backstage with Knux and Garett Bischoff and says calls Mr. Anderson selfish for wanting revenge instead of making amends with his brothers. Ray says he needs Knux and Bischoff to go down to the jail Anderson is stuck in to make sure he doesn’t post bail and while they do that Ray will impose his will on AJ Styles. Ray tells them to get the job done and they all bumps fists to end the segment.

Dixie Carter is shown backstage on her cell phone. She says she needs “it” now and tells them to put in what she asks. Her blonde assistant shuts the door on the cameraman to prevent further spoiling of her plan.

The Bro Mans’ Cele-BRO-tion!
New Tag Team Champs The Bro Mans make their way out, fist bumping halfway down the entrance aisle. Robbie E has a bottle of alcohol in his hand. They get in the ring, where there’s a DJ spinning music and another table set up with champagne and food. Taz calls the DJ “DJ Salami”. Robbie E and Jessie Godderz pop streamers and fist bump in excitement. Robbie E tells everyone to give it up for “DJ Dot…OOHHHH!”. Robbie E asks the crowd if this is a party or what and the crowd boos. Robbie E says that BFG was the biggest night in Bro Man history. A “YOU CAN’T WRESTLE!” chant breaks out because goddammit.

Robbie E soldiers on and tries to continue his spiel, but come James Storm & Gunner to break up the celebration. Storm gets on the mic while Gunner snacks on a protein bar. Storm tells “DJ Anus” to get out of the ring and knocks down the DJ table. Storm picks up a bottle of champagne and chugs a bit of it as Robbie E and Godderz react hilariously over the top. Storm says they’re going to take their alcohol and protein bars but Robbie E can keep his sister’s skinny jeans. Storm then says they’re going to end their title reign early next week and SORRY…

Before he can finish out come Bad Influence. Frankie Kazarian says he has no idea what’s going on here, but what he sees is two bros, one brain, a cowboy, and a pretend viking. Kazarian says what they’re looking at happens to be the best tag team in the BIZ-A-NISS. Kazarian tells The Bro Mans not to celebrate just yet because they are campaigning for a shot. Christopher Daniels admonishes The Bro Mans for having the wrong beverages for a party. Daniels says beer is for the lower class and champagne is for pretentious posers; if you want to celebrate a gentleman’s victory you do it with an Appletini. Daniels goes for a swig but Storm takes it and smells it. Gunner takes it and tosses it in Daniels’ face and a three-team brawl breaks out until Joseph Park & Eric Young make their way out. Daniels smashes a champagne bottle over the head of Park and Bad Influence pose over his fallen body. Park, however, is now bleeding. Park goes into ABYSS MODE and Bad Influence immediately bail. Park instead grabs Godderz and goozles him with a chokeslam. Park goes after Bad Influence, shoving Eric Young away.

Mike Tenay hypes TNA’s new 24/7 initiative “Where Action Never Ends”.
Tenay then announces Angle/Roode for next week’s Halloween episode. I guess you only need a week to deal with torn knee cartilage when you’re a CYBORG.

Bully Ray storms his way to the ring for the main event, joined by Brooke Tessmacher. His opponent, AJ Styles, makes his way out second. His ribs are taped due to the attack from earlier. Jeremy Borash tries to do the in-ring introductions but Ray scares him out of the ring and does it himself…until Styles decks him with a right.

—–

Main Event: AJ Styles (c) Vs. Bully Ray for the TNA World Heavyweight Title

Styles continues taking it to Ray, sending him from corner to corner. Styles connects with a hard forearm to the jaw and brings him to the mat with a snapmare, followed by a kick right to the neck. Styles whips Ray into the ropes and connects with a dropkick, sending Ray bailing to the corner. Styles poses for the crowd as Ray regroups. Styles goes for a corner splash but eats an elbow to the mush. Ray makes with the left jabs followed by the Dusty taunt but Styles hits him with an enziguri before he can hit a bionic elbow. Styles covers for 2 then goes back to work. Styles gets a running head start and runs right into a backdrop but instead he all but lands on his face. Ray is now in control as we go to commercial.

-Commercial Break-

Ray does his Hulk Hogan impression as Styles recovers. Styles gets a series of strikes in but he and Ray take one another down with a clothesline. Ray picks Styles up and applies a standing bearhug right to the taped ribs. Taz references Ted Arcidi, which is something no one should do in a positive light. Styles breaks out but Ray catches him with another back bodydrop this time less terrifying and potentially life-ending. Ray covers Styles but only gets 1. Ray goes for an elbow drop but Styles moves out of the way.

Both men get to their feet and trade right hands. Ray switches it up and hits Styles with an open hand chop to the chest. Styles fights back with a clothesline and spinkick, followed by a springboard flying forearm for the 1…2…kickout. Styles goes to pick Ray up but the ribs are too hurt so it hurts him more. Ray takes advantage with a Samoan drop and covers for the 1…2…kickout. Ray climbs to the second turnbuckle but Styles catches him with a right hand. Styles climbs to the top but Ray pushes him off. Ray attempts the back splash but Styles manages to get out of the way.

Styles heads to the apron and misses the springboard 450 splash. Ray crawls over and covers for the 1…2…kickout! Ray places Styles on the top turnbuckle but Styles goes for a tornado DDT. Ray throws him off and Styles gingerly bumps the ref. Styles locks in the CALF KILLER on Ray and starts tapping. Styles releases the hold (WHY?!?) and goes to revive the ref. Ray grabs his chain and hits Styles with it. Ray follows it up with the BULLY CUTTER and covers for the 1…2…kickout! Ray can’t believe it!

Ray grabs the chain once more as the ref continues to regroup. Mr. Anderson shows up ringside and snaps Ray’s neck against the top rope. Ray falls back and Styles nabs a crucifix, rolling him up for the 1…2…3!

Winner and STILL World Champion [via Pinfall]: AJ Styles (13:37)

POST-MATCH: Anderson and Ray brawl on the outside as officials and security try to break them up. Anderson, still wearing the handcuffs, tries to rush Ray but he’s held back. Dixie Carter appears on the Impact-Tron and says she’s on her way out with a contract. She tells Styles and company, and the audience watching at home, not to leave.

-Commercial Break-

Dixie Carter makes her way out to the ring, where only AJ Styles remains. I guess she just meant him. Carter says her strategy from earlier must have been off and she has been in the back all night long thinking of what he wanted. Carter says she has a contract for Styles and it’s full of everything he would ever want including more zeroes and the car from earlier as a signing bonus. Carter tells Styles she wants him in TNA and wants him to sign the contract. She appeals to him to move forward and hands Styles the clipboard. Styles briefly looks at it and says that’s it’s an amazing looking contract…from a horrible human being who uses people to pad their bank account. Styles says Carter didn’t believe in him months ago and he doesn’t have a contract (THEN JUST STRIP HIM OF THE…sorry sorry), then pretends to wipe his ass with it. Styles says he’s not done yet and says making Carter pay was not just about the money. Styles says Carter doesn’t respect the title, the company, or the people, then informs Carter how she’s gonna pay: Styles is gonna take the World Title away from Dixie. Styles says he’s leaving and he’s taking it to the crowd. Styles then takes the keys to the car and leaves the ring as Carter asks where he’s going. Styles skips the car and walks backstage, and the camera follows him to the car (that’s already on) where he drives off while holding the World Title as the show fades out.
