UPDATED: WWE Issues Official Statement on The Original Sin Cara’s Status
UPDATE: Mistico’s contract is reportedly finished with in January. WWE has the option to renew it if they wish to, though as previously reported he may be done with the company and someone else like Hunico may continue to work as Sin Cara as he did on Monday. [Credit: Wrestling Observer Newsletter]
ORIGINAL: On Monday’s Raw, “Sin Cara” returned to action, defeating Alberto Del Rio. The part of Sin Cara was played by Hunico, and not Luis Ignascio Urive Alvirde, who was originally signed to play the role. WWE sent the following statement to prowrestling.net about the status of Alvirde…
“The original performer behind the Sin Cara mask remains under contract to WWE. WWE will continue to invest in the character and retain it as part of WWE programming.”
