AJ Styles and American Wolves Set to Work Dreamwave Wrestling Event in February 2014 (SPOILERS)
– Dreamwave Wrestling has announced that AJ Styles and the American Wolves (Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards) are set to work their upcoming show on February 1, 2014.
Richards and Edwards are currently in the midst of a short-term tryout deal with WWE NXT. Richards has recently pulled out of multiple independent bookings, but Edwards will still be working at the ROH Final Battle card next week. It appears both workers are being allowed to finish up dates they were already committed to working and will likely not be scheduled for NXT in February, unless their situation changes.
For AJ Styles, his appearance would take place after he has already dropped his TNA title to Magnus in an undisputed championship match that will air on Impact Wrestling in January (since TNA tapes Impact over a month in advance now). Styles also played up that he is done working in TNA after the match, though it still remains to be seen how much of that is part of his ongoing storyline with TNA and Dixie Carter. But the Dreamwave appearance would occur a month after AJ Styles is not TNA world champion any longer. So Styles is in a weird period now where he travels to other promotions to “defend” his TNA world title, though technically he is no longer a world champion as he dropped the title at the tapings.
