Update On Why WWE Chose Santa Clara For WrestleMania 31
December 11, 2013 | Posted by
WWE reportedly chose Santa Clara, California for WrestleMania 31 over Philadelphia because Philly officials showed a “lack of interest” in the bidding process. Bay Area officials were said to be more inviting and enthusiastic. Philadelphia representatives acted as if they were doing the WWE a favor by hosting the event rather than the other way around. That’s part of the reason why Santa Clara was chosen.
This is also possibly the reason why Philly’s Lincoln Financial Field will not get WrestleMania 32. It was confirmed this past week that the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas would host in 2016.
