Magnus arrives backstage and asks a stage hand about the whereabouts of Dixie Carter and Jeff Hardy. He tells the stage hand if he does see them that he’s going to go out to the ring and say something that will get everyone’s attention.

After Mike Tenay briefly hypes tonight’s show Magnus does indeed make his way out to the ring. He starts off by saying that he loves pro wrestling (okay he says “THIS BUSINESS” but I hate that phrase). Magnus says he can’t change where he’s from but he’s proud that he’s been making his living in the United States for the past five years. Magnus says the first thing he realized when he moved here was that “money talks” but for him it’s not about that, it’s about pride, honor, dignity, and respect. Magnus then wonders if the same can be said for Jeff Hardy. The crowd is decidedly-pro Hardy. Magnus says that Hardy didn’t just overcome his demons, he slayed every single one of them, but maybe there’s just one little demon creeping his way back in: greed. Magnus brings up Hardy having drinks with Dixie Carter (a clip from the end of last week’s show) and says he owes everyone an explanation. Magnus says this is the most important moment of his life and says he won’t be fooled by Hardy or Carter.

Hardy makes his way out to refute the accusatory tone in Magnus’ voice. Hardy says Magnus doesn’t even know him and gets mad at the questioning of his virtue. Magnus interrupts and says he hasn’t forgotten Hardy’s history, bringing up the 10-10-10 story from two years ago. Hardy says that was a different person, time, and place; Magnus says it may have been a different time but not the place and says on October 10, 2010 he sold out and “took the money” as well as the Championship. Magnus says he thinks Hardy is about to do that again. Hardy tells Magnus to worry about his life instead of Hardy’s, then throws the mic down in anger before leaving to his theme.

Christy Hemme is backstage with Kurt Angle. Angle says a lot has been going on since Bound For Glory, including falling short in the World Title tournament, then says tonight everything changes he still proves that he has it. Angle promises to beat Roode not once, but twice. Angle says this isn’t the end of him, it is only the beginning.

Jeremy Borash is backstage. He hypes the reveal of the Feast or Fired briefcases then interviews Chavo Guerrero Jr. before Zema Ion busts in with some air horn. Guerrero says there’s a 25% chance Ion gets fired tonight and a 100% chance he’ll punch Ion in the face if he does the air horn thing again. They walk into the conference room behind Borash.

Bobby Roode finishes his entrance as we return to the ring.

Match #1: Kurt Angle Vs. Bobby Roode in a 2 OUT OF 3 FALLS MATCH

Roode with a side headlock to start. Angle whips him into the ropes but gets taken down with a shoulderblock and Roode covers for 1. Angle sweeps the legs and gets a 1-count himself then both men back off and stare one another down as the crowd cheers. Angle gets a side headlock off a collar and elbow tie-up. Roode whips Angle into the ropes and gets taken down with a shoulderblock. Roode leapfrogs a running Angle and escapes an Angle Slam but Angle responds and goes for the Ankle Lock. Roode immediately gets to the bottom rope to prevent the hold from being applied. A “BOBBY SUCKS!” chant breaks out among the Impact Zone faithful.

Angle and Roode trade waistlocks, the former taking the latter down to the mat. Roode breaks out with back elbows but runs right into a release overhead belly-to-belly suplex. Roode bails out to the floor and Angle follows to inflict more damage. Angle catches Roode with back to back forearms. Angle rams Roode face-first into the barricade then rolls in and out to break the count…before rolling Roode back in anyway. Alright. Angle rushes Roode but he gets the boots up during the splash attempt. Angle rebounds and goes into the German Suplex combo, hitting 3 and releasing the grip on the third. Angle measures Roode and goes for the Angle Slam but Roode counters with an armdrag. Roode shoves the ref in between them then hits a low-blow when the ref is distracted. Roode follows up with a Death Valley Driver and covers for the 1…2…3! Roode: 1, Angle: 0

-Commercial Break-

Angle breaks out of a sleeperhold as we return from the break but runs right into a back elbow anyway. Roode follows up with a snap suplex but misses the kneedrop. Angle embarks on a comeback with a series of clotheslines and another overhead release belly-to-belly suplex. Angle waits for Roode to get up but misses a corner spear sending him shoulder-first into the ring post. Roode goes for the Crossface but Angle rolls through and hits the ANGLE SLAM for the 1…2…3! Roode: 1, Angle: 1

Roode tries to bail from the match but Angle throws him back in the ring and goes into the German Suplex combo, hitting two but eating elbows to prevent the third. Roode grabs the arm and applies the CROSSFACE. Angle rolls him over for a 2-count then Roode gets Angle in a crucifix for a 2-count. Roode fights Angle off and applies the CROSSFACE once more. Angle attempts an Angle Slam but Roode turns it into an armbreaker then applies the CROSSFACE for a third time. Angle grabs the ankle and escapes via ANKLE LOCK! Roode teases tapping out but crawls to the ropes. Angle drags him back to the center of the ring and applies a CROSSFACE of his own, yelling at Roode to tap.

Roode gets to his feet and goes for the DVD but Angle escapes and hits an ANGLE SLAM for the 1…2…kickout! Roode tries to bail out to the floor but Angle drags him back in, ANKLE LOCK applied. Roode rolls through and rolls Angle up for the 1…2…Roode grabs the middle rope…3! Roode: 2, Angle: 1

Winner [2 Falls to 1]: Bobby Roode (14:47)

We go backstage to Jeremy Borash to once again hype the “Feast or Fired” reveal. Gunner walks in, along with James Storm. Borash asks Gunner about grabbing the briefcase while stepping over Storm, and he says Storm would have done the same thing. Storm says we’ll see if Gunner’s gamble pays off since he could also be fired. Gunner responds with “maybe…maybe NOT” and they both walk into the conference room.

The mysterious interview catches up with Kurt Angle backstage, asking him what happened out there. Angle says Roode isn’t outwrestling him but he is outsmarting him and he’s never been outsmarted before. The interviewer asks Angle if he thinks Roode truly has his number. Angle says his pride won’t let him admit that, and says he just doesn’t know what to do.

—–

A video plays of Madison Rayne and Gail Kim’s history as former friends and tag team partners.

—–

Jeremy Borash is interrupted backstage by Ethan Carter III. Carter says Borash still owes him a match…but not tonight. Carter says his fate as a winner has already been determined…and if all else fails he happens to know the people in charge. Carter’s phone rings (it’s his theme song, naturally) and he walks off to take the call from Dixie Carter. Carter asks if she’s looked into the cases and she responds by saying there’s nothing she can do as they’ve been sealed. Carter looks perturbed.

—–

Eric Young is backstage. He says the experiment continues tonight and holds up a wrapped chair, saying he has some gifts to remind Joseph Park of old times.

Early Christmas for Joseph Park & Eric Young

Eric Young makes his way out to the ring but instead of seeing him make his way down we awkwardly cut to a video recapping the Joseph Park/Bad Influence storyline and Young’s reveal of Park and Abyss being the same person.

We cut back to the ring where Young is in the ring, a table with presents behind him. He calls out Joseph Park, who makes his way out in a suit. Young tells Park once again that he’s Abyss as the crowd joins in (sort-of). Park says he doesn’t know what to believe after the week he’s had but he knows this: his name is JOSEPH. PARK. Young says to follow the science and brings up the fact he busted Park up and brought out the inner-Abyss. Park says it’s a blur as he blacks out when that stuff happens and once again says he’s Joseph Park. Young says there’s a new 2-part science experience. Part 1: Park will face Bad Influence on next week’s show…in a Monster’s Ball match.

Park tells Young he’s lost it as that’s his brother’s match. Park says he needs to put his foot down and refuses to do it. Young then goes into Part 2 of the experiment and hands him the first present: a steel chair. Young hands him the second present: a bag of thumbtacks, which he pours on the table. Young then gives him the third present. Park shakes it then opens it up: it’s barbed wire! Park says he appreciates this but it doesn’t do anything for him so the answer is still no. Young says he has saved the best for last and slid it under the ring. Park goes to the outside and looks under the ring…pulling out Abyss’s old buddy “Janice”, a 2×4 covered in nails. A “JANICE!” chant breaks out and Park reluctantly agrees to the match, staring at Janice and walking off.

“EARLIER TONIGHT” VIDEO: Magnus accuses Jeff Hardy of selling out.

—–

Jeff Hardy is sitting backstage contemplating when Samoa Joe shows up. Joe says there’s no reason for Hardy to look like that unless he’s guilty. Hardy freaks and Joe tells him to calm down, saying that he can understand the attraction of a shortcut. Joe says he never thought Hardy would be the kind of person who would take the bait. Hardy says no one is getting an explanation and walks off.

Feast or Fired: The Reveal

Jeremy Borash is with the four men who grabbed a briefcase: Zema Ion, Gunner, Chavo Guerrero Jr., & Ethan Carter III. Borash introduces Dixie Carter into the room to oversee the proceedings. EC3 pulls out the chair for her, naturally. Carter welcomes the four gentlemen and says the stakes could not be any higher and wishes them good luck. DJ Zema Ion is going to be the first to open his case. Ion says there’s a 100% chance he’s going home…with GOLD AROUND HIS WAIST. He does the airhorn sound then opens the case to reveal an X-Division Title shot! Ion excitedly leaves, saying he’s keeping the briefcase.

Borash says Gunner is next and Gunner says he will definitely pick James Storm if he gets the Tag Team Title shot. Gunner opens the case, revealing a World Heavyweight Title match. Gunner and Storm stare one another down, then leave the area. Guerrero says he’s confident that in this briefcase is a Tag Team Title shot, but whatever is in there won’t change the fact that he’s a Guerrero. EC3 says just like he will never lose, he will never be fired. His spiel is interrupted by Sting who crashes the party. He says EC3 makes him nauseous and what the Carters are doing is making him nauseous. Sting asks Guerrero if he’s ever had anything handed to him and Guerrero says he hasn’t (HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA).

Sting tells EC3 that instead of squirming about the briefcase, he’ll give him a different option: he will take whatever the briefcase has inside as long as EC3 fights him one time. EC3 opts for the briefcase. Both men open their briefcases. EC3 has a Tag Team Title shot…and Guerrero is *fired*. Sting consoles Guerrero as the Carters celebrate. Sting says it’s the end of the Carters, then leaves in a huff. The Carters then leave, once again excited, as Guerrero deals with being fired.

Magnus is getting ready backstage when he’s asked about his thoughts on the upcoming match. He says he’s focused on winning the title and becoming champion and when he does all questions will be answered. He concluded by yelling “I’M THE ONE TURNING HEEL GUYYYYSSSS! ME ME ME ME!”*

* = he didn’t actually say that but come on.

Gail Kim & Lei’D Tapa make their way out for the second (!!!) match of the show. Their opponents, ODB & Madison Rayne, make their way out second to their own theme songs.

—–

Match #2: ODB & Madison Rayne Vs. *TNA Knockouts Champion* Gail Kim & Lei’D Tapa

Rayne and Tapa start. Tapa immediately goozles Rayne and shoves her to the mat. Rayne ducks a clothesline and grabs a waistlock but Tapa shakes her off with ease. Rayne ducks a clothesline and tags in ODB who’s super excited to get involved. Tapa backs ODB into the corner but ODB ducks a strike and chops her. ODB tries for an Irish whip but Tapa hangs on and kicks her instead. Tapa follows up with a scoop slam then tags Kim in. Kim continues the punishment for a bit with forearms then whips her into the corner. ODB comes storming out with a clothesline then whips her into the corner. ODB connects with a splash then knocks Tapa in the skull with a forearm. Tapa grabs ODB and distracts her, allowing Kim to hit a running dropkick.

Tapa tags in and hits an over the shoulder backbreaker, then poses for the crowd. Tapa chokes ODB on the middle rope then tags Kim in who covers for a 2-count. Kim hits a European uppercut then chokes her in the corner with her boot. Kim whips ODB into the opposite corner but misses the splash and ODB tosses her to the mat face-first. Both ladies are down. Rayne tags in and takes Kim down with back to back clotheslines before tossing her to the mat by the hair. Kim reverses an Irish whip and Rayne catches her with a spear. Tapa intervenes, peeling Rayne off but ODB jumps on her back. Tapa dumps ODB out to the floor then goes to work on her. Rayne gets distracted allowing Kim to attack her from behind. Kim hits a short-arm clothesline and yells at Rayne. Rayne blocks EAT DEFEAT and rolls her up with a backslide for the 1…2…3!

Winners [via Pinfall]: ODB & Madison Rayne (5:44)

After a brief “Glory Kickboxing” promo we cut backstage where Sting catches up with Jeff Hardy. Sting says he knows what it’s like to be second guessed and doesn’t ask for an explanation. Sting says Hardy does owe it to the Creatures and his family to be true to himself. Hardy says Sting doesn’t understand but Sting says he really does. The World Title match is next!

IMPACT365 VIDEO: We are in the Carter Household as Rockstar Spud apologizes to Dixie Carter for not getting the title belt. Carter says they are days away from crowning a new champion but doesn’t have a belt to award to the winner (they sell replicas, don’t they?). Carter tells Spud they need to find someone who can make them a new World Title belt by Final Resolution.

—–

We cut to the Impact Zone where the cage and ladder have been set up. The World Title hangs over the ladder so I guess Spud found someone to make them a belt…or that guy just BOUGHT THE REPLICA and pocketed the extra money.

STORYLINE RECAP: The TNA World Title tournament

—–

We go back to the arena as Jeff Hardy makes his entrance for the main event. Hardy sings along to his theme song and I can’t help but laugh. Hardy heads into the cage without slapping hands with the fans. Hardy gets on the mic and says he can’t change the past, bringing up the shortcut he took 3 years ago. Hardy says it was nice for awhile but we all know how that ended in 2011 at Victory Road. Hardy says all of those mistakes are bad memories and they will not be repeated. Hardy says he met with Dixie Carter last week to discuss his future. He says that he thought about Carter’s offer but she would have owned him and nobody owns him or the Creatures. Hardy says he told Carter to take her big money and STICK IT. Hardy says he’s gonna win the World Title and represent it the way it should be.

Dixie Carter makes her way out to refute Hardy. Carter says she sees one glaring similarity between Hardy and Styles: everything he has he owes to her. Carter says he can come out and talk about his mistakes but she’s the one who stood by him. Hardy tries to say he appreciates it but she cuts him off, yelling at him for cutting her off. Carter says she was the one who stuck by Hardy even when the Creatures abandoned him for awhile. Carter says it’s because of that he got to keep his job, so tonight they should think about what’s best for her and her company, NOT what’s best for him and his family. Carter says if Hardy doesn’t he will be out of a job just like AJ Styles. Carter says this is so important she’s going to watch it at ringside. The match finally happens next.

Magnus makes his way out to the ring. Dixie Carter is standing on the entrance ramp instead of sitting at ringside. My mistake. Jeremy Borash handles the in-ring introductions.

Main Event: Jeff Hardy Vs. Magnus in a DIXIELAND MATCH for the vacant TNA World Heavyweight Title

The bell rings and the crowd…doesn’t seem all that invested. Must have been a long day of tapings. Both men trade right hands before Magnus backs Hardy into the corner and hits a series of stomps to the midsection. Magnus connects with a European uppercut but Hardy responds with a float-over headscissors followed by Air Sabu into the corner and the 10 right hands of doom in the corner mount. Hardy hits the corner springboard dropkick. Magnus responds with the boomerang clothesline but misses the top-rope elbow drop. Hardy tries to ascend the cage but Magnus gets right behind him and peppers him with rights. Hardy fights back with elbows then rams him head-first into the cage, sending Magnus flying to the mat. Hardy, however, misses the Swanton and now both men are down.

Magnus is up first and starts climbing the cage. Hardy grabs his leg as Ethan Carter III appears on the stage (now wearing his ring gear for some reason). Hardy climbs to the top and connects with a top-rope back suplex. Both men writhe on the canvas as we go to commercial.

-Commercial Break-

We go back live and Hardy tries to get out of the cage through the camera hole (GENIUS!) but Magnus grabs his leg. Hardy gets to his feet and hits Magnus with the free leg followed by his usual atomic drop, legdrop, dropkick combo. Magnus reverses an Irish whip but eats a flying forearm. Hardy climbs to the top rope, kicks Magnus off, then hits a standing springboard Vader bomb. That was pretty awesome, so I agree with the Impact Zone crowd for once.

Hardy hits Magnus with the TWIST OF FATE but Magnus dodges the second and clips the knee. Magnus locks in the Cloverleaf for a few seconds then starts climbing the cage. Hardy pulls him off but Magnus hits the slam into a suplex. Magnus climbs to the top rope and this time he hits the top-rope elbow drop. Magnus goes for a corner splash but Hardy gets an elbow up then connects with WHISPER IN THE WIND. Hardy follows up with a legdrop then climbs to the top of the cage. Instead of exiting he stands up and takes Magnus out with another WHISPER IN THE WIND. Jeff Hardy is terrible at winning cage matches.

Magnus and Hardy both start their cage escape on opposite sides. EC3 runs to the ring and climbs the cage but Magnus kicks him off and makes his way down. Hardy limps his way past and heads up the entrance aisle. EC3 grabs Magnus so Hardy attacks him and hits a Twist of Fate on Carter’s nephew. Hardy and Magnus then trade rights. Magnus wins the shootout and walks up the ramp. Hardy come in from behind and hits the TWIST OF FATE. Hardy makes his way towards the ladder and Dixie gets in the way, saying “Over my dead body” to her. Hardy yells at her and shoos her away, then climbs up the cage (but not before taking his shirt off and throwing it in her face). Hardy climbs to the top but Rockstar Spud comes out and pushes the ladder over, and Hardy’s head bounces off of the ramp. STAHP IT HARDY. Spud sets the ladder back up and tells Magnus to go and grab the belt. Magnus does what Spud says, climbs the ladder, and grabs the World Title! NEW CHAMP! LEGIT NEW CHAMP!

Winner and NEW World Champion: Magnus (17:45)

POST-MATCH: Magnus poses on top of the ladder with the belt. Spud and Carter are thrilled about it. After clips from the match we go back live where Magnus poses with the Carter Family and Spud, Dixie holding his arm up in celebration. Magnus snipes at the fans then raises his new World Title as we fade to logo.
