TNA News: Details on TNA Securing New Taping Dates for Universal Studios, Update on Rumors of MVP Going to TNA, and More

January 25, 2014 | Posted by Jeffrey Harris

– TNA reportedly closed their deal to return to Universal Studios for their upcoming TV and PPV tapings earlier on Friday (Jan. 24). Previously, it looked like TNA wasn’t going to be able to schedule tapings at their soundstage due to other productions utilizing the soundstages. TNA got around this issue by changing their taping schedule and taping on weekend dates when they usually run house shows and booking specific dates instead of their original plan of taking over the soundstage completely when they used to rent the Impact Zone fulltime. Many in the company are now relieved that they have a place to tape the TV shows.

– TNA adding a live PPV in April 26 this year is a break from the previous strategy last year of holding four live PPV’s (Genesis in January, Lockdown in April, Slammiversary in June, Bound for Glory in October). TNA will continue holding their One Night Only PPV tapings over the next several months as well.

– PWInsider has been unable to independently confirm reports that MVP is on his way to TNA. MVP does own the name and rights to his character and could potentially fit into his character. Also, the upcoming Lockdown event is set for his hometown of Miami, Florida.

– There are still some in TNA who believe that AJ Styles will be returning soon. The two sides have reportedly still been in contact, though TNA was not happy that Styles started taking dates with ROH.
