John Cena appeared on Cavuto on the FOX Business Channel last night to promote Wrestlemania 30 and the WWE Network. The basic of the appearance was Cena giving Cavuto social media tips to help him grow Cavuto’s just launched Facebook page.

Cavuto asked Cena how you get 20 million followers. He said the top followed personalities are socialites and athletes, so he suggested a music video with a fancy wardrobe as Cavuto acts wacky, then they follow up with a sex tape. Obviously, Cena was goofing around with him.

Cavuto asked him about growing that Twitter following. Cena said it has to be the voice of the individual. He said that everyone has it but it’s up to the personality to make it work. He said some have Twitter accounts set up and run by others but for WWE talents, they set them up and run them themselves. He said that he does have corporate sponsors and programs, such as Changetime.com but he believes in the program and promotes it in a real way.

Cavuto noted that Cena is involved “full-throttle”. Cena said that he didn’t know about social media but needed to get into it completely or you get mowed over. He said that social media is how people communicate now. He said that if you don’t have a digital presence, you are missing out on so much interaction with an audience from around the world. He’ll post inspirational quotes that he thinking and people will re-tweet it and lead to others finding out about him and following them, thus learning about WWE. Cena said that he gives legitimate thoughts from him as a person and that allows people to latch onto him and to WWE.

Cavuto then tossed out some potential nicknames for himself as a wrestler, which led to Cena making some jokes. Cavuto joked they should send Cena to Bill O’Reilly’s office, joking, “What an SOB he is.”

It was a pretty good appearance for Cena, who came off extremely smart and likeable.
