West Coast Wrestling Connection to Air on TV in Portland

LOCALLY PRODUCED WRESTLING RETURNS TO PACIFIC NORTHWEST TELEVISION

March 31, 2104 (Salem, OR) ā€“ The West Coast Wrestling Connection brings locally produced professional wrestling back to Pacific Northwest television with its first taping on April 5 at the Bob White Theater, 6423 SE Foster Road, Portland, Orlando.

“The first televised wrestling series in the United States was in Portland, Oregon during the early 1950s. The WCWC, in its nine year history has presented the top stars in wrestling at live events throughout Oregon. The WCWC is ready to continue the legacy of Portland Wrestling now on television,” stated Jeff Manning, General Manager of the WCWC.

The West Coast Wrestling Connection will be seen at midnight Saturday-Sunday on KPDX television. The legendary Grappler and his wrecking crew intend to rule the Northwest wrestling scene again. The Grappler is one of the most famous wrestlers in the history of the Northwest, and has been associated with Pacific Northwest wrestling continuously since the late 1980s.

Hosted by Jeff Akin and Joe V, the West Coast Wrestling Connection features the best wrestlers from California, Oregon and Washington and throughout the United States. The WCWC holds regular monthly events in Salem, Oregon and occasional events in Hollywood, California.

On April 5, the WCWC will tape in two sessions, the first from noon to 2pm and the other from 5pm to 7pm. Tickets for valid for both sessions are available at the door, or may be reserved in advance through email [email protected] or by phone at 503.851.9980.

The next live event after the television taping will be held on Saturday, April 12, at 6:00pm at Houck Middle School in Salem.

The WCWC is sponsored by Buffalo Wild Wings Grill & Bar and The Game 750 AM.

The WCWC has operated for 9 years and is licensed by the Oregon State Wrestling commission. The WCWC’s roster includes wrestlers from throughout the country including North Dakota, Illinois, Minnesota, Florida and Michigan together with California, Oregon and Washington.

The West Coast Wrestling connection’s television program will also be seen in Los Angeles, the AMGTV national television network and Ireland AerTV.
