Former WCW Announcer Lee Marshall Passes Away
Posted by Jeremy Thomas on 04.28.2014

- KFBK Radio in Sacramento is reporting that former WCW announcer Lee Marshall has passed away. The article does not note a cause of death.

Marshall worked as an announcer for several large companies, joining AWA when it was on ESPN. He worked for a time in WCW, announcing on WCW Thunder with Bobby Heenan and Tony Schiavone along with WCW Saturday Night with Mike Tenay and Scott Hudson. He was also the ring announcer for the Los Angeles portion of WWF WrestleMania 2.

Outside of wrestling, Marshall is best known for taking over the voice role of Tony the Tiger for Frosted Flakes in 2005 after Thurl Ravenscroft, who had voiced the character since 1953, passed away.

On behalf of 411, our condolences to the family, friends and fans of Mr. Marshall.
