WWE Financials: Looking at the Last Five Years of Buyrates For The Royal Rumble and Elimination Chamber PPVs

- Things will be changing due to the WWE Network and the move in business model to the PPVs becoming special events and airing on the WWE Network. Unfortunately WWE saw a decline in PPV business in the final quarter before all PPV heads to the WWE Network. The Royal Rumble PPV, Extreme Rules PPV and buys from prior events were down a total of 67,000 buys from 2013. Here is a look at the PPV buys for both events from the past five years…

Royal Rumble
  • 2014: 467,000 buys
  • 2013: 512,000 buys
  • 2012: 443,000 buys
  • 2011: 446,000 buys
  • 2010: 462,000 buys

  • Average: 466,000 buys


    Elimination Chamber
  • 2014: 183,000 buys
  • 2013: 213,000 buys
  • 2012: 178,000 buys
  • 2011: 199,000 buys
  • 2010: 285,000 buys

  • Average: 211,600 buys
