The latest on the story...
UPDATE:The Wrestling Observer reports that the project for which Sting body doubles are being cast is not specifically for WWE, but rather for another agency that works with WWE. Sting has not signed with the company as of today and this is not for Raw next week nor any currently planned WWE programming.
The project is labeled "WWE Orchestra" and will shoot this coming Monday in Los Angeles. As of today, there are no plans for Sting to appear any time soon on Raw although if he does end up signing, that could change. The deal is, as has been for months, nearly finalized.
ORIGINAL: Casting agencies today have released requests for Sting lookalikes for a WWE production. WWE is looking for a Sting body double aged 38-50 who is "6'2, 250lb of pure muscle. Prefer a guy with wrestling experience, very fit. HEAVILY muscular. Slightly longer dark hair. Will have a full face of make up on. paying a higher rate as we need a GREAT double for this."
They are also seeking "orchestra musicians with own instruments" aged 18 to 70 to play a playing orchestra that would wear Sting's trademark facepaint.
The scenes rumored to be for a new WWE videogame which means that Sting will likely have a major role. This would be his debut in a WWE game. He would be used similar to how Ultimate Warrior, Mike Tyson and Brock Lesnar were used as the "unique" name that helped promote the game.
The footage will be shot on June 16, directed by Tom Haines and produced by Tom Martin for Street Gang Films.
