Former FIP Heavyweight Champion Homicide Returns To FIP!
Homicide, who held the FIP Heavyweight Title from September 2004 to January 2006, will finally return to FIP on July 7th in Inverness, FL and July 8th in Bushnell, FL. Homicide has made it clear that he is focused on getting that title back. Homicide's FIP Heavyweight Title reign is legendary for defenses vs. CM Punk, James Gibson, Spanky, Tony Mamaluke, Azrieal, Colt Cabana, Nigel McGuinness, Rocky Romero, Steve Madison, Jimmy Rave and many others. Homicide's title reign featured everything from brawls into strip clubs to technical wrestling matches. Homicide never received a title rematch after losing the belt to Bryan Danielson at Ring Of Honor's "Hell Freezes Over" in Philadelphia. Now Homicide is back and he wants the title that he made back. Check FullImpactPro.com for all the details.
"I can't wait to see the 187 Stick Up Kids," Homicide said. "I miss Florida and its been far too long since I've been in FIP. Bryan Danielson, Dave Prazak, whoever else gets in my way, you can't stop the "Notorious 187" from getting the FIP Heavyweight Title back."
Bryan Danielson vs. Colt Cabana II Signed For 7/7 in Inverness
At the last Inverness event, Colt Cabana won a 30 plus minute six man elimination match over Austin Aries, Steve Madison, Davey Richards, Roderick Strong and Canadian Cougar to earn a FIP Heavyweight Title match on 7/7 in Inverness. Last month saw Danielson defend the ROH World Title against Cabana in FIP. Danielson won this match in cheap fashion as Cabana had his foot on the ropes, which should have negated the three count but the referee did not see it (You can see a clip in the new ROH Video Recap at ROHvideos.com). Now Danielson will have to put the FIP belt on the line against Cabana. This will be a true old school battle of one of the biggest fan favorites in FIP and one of the most hated individuals in FIP.
"I already defeated Cabana once," Danielson said. "It doesn't matter if his foot was on the ropes because the referee counted three. I don't care what all the stupid fans in Florida say. I better not hear the people in Inverness booing me or I will punch them all in the face. Cabana has nothing on me."
"Impact Of Honor" A Huge Success
On June 10th FIP promoted a ROH style show called "Impact Of Honor" in Orlando. The results saw attendance triple, great action from top to bottom and two excellent ROH Title defenses. The DVD of this event will go into immediate production ahead of the other FIP DVDs that have yet to be released.
Colt Cabana and Bryan Danielson battled for over 22 minutes for the ROH World Title. This match was a perfect blend of ROH and FIP style. Danielson scored the controversial pin to retain the belt. Austin Aries & Roderick Strong defended the ROH Tag Team Titles for the first time outside of ROH in an incredible match against Fast & Furious of Jerrelle Clark & Jay Fury that earned a standing ovation from the crowd. Look for the DVD of this event in the upcoming weeks.
