Ring of Honor News: Lots of Weekend Fallout, Joe vs. Morishima, Nana Gone and More

Tons of news from ROH to kick off the week!
-Ring of Honor was pleased with their debut at the Manhattan Center in New York City as it drew a sellout crowd of 1,200 fans. They had to close the doors and do some reorganization at the request of the fire marshal, but all went very well. ROH internally had high hopes for the show, as well as DVD sales of the show as they looked on it as a historical night for the promotion.
-Bruno Sammartino, who was there as a guest spoke to the live crowd. The first ideal was to do an angle where he would lay out Prince Nana, but Sammartino suggested the speech to the crowd to put over the company. ROH didn't argue and were reportedly blown away by his words, which were all his own. Sammartino filmed a shoot interview with Jim Cornette on 9.15.06 for future release.
-The reason the 9.15.06 East Windsor, CT event was held outside in a tent was due to issues with the fire marshal. He was concerned about the size of the crowd because the venue didn't have the proper permits in place to hold the event. ROH was informed 48-hours before the show. They opted for the tent show because the idea is to never cancel a show. They can do horrible at the gate but have the DVD sales to fall back on. While the show was a bit shorter than a traditional ROH show, due to a rainstorm, the product was still said to be very good at the show.
-ROH's British events are finished for their DVD release and are being duplicated; they will be on sale very soon.
-Samoa Joe vs. Takeshi Morishima will have a long build and take place in 2007.
-Prince Nana gave his notice to ROH and is done with the company.
