ROH All Star Extravaganza Live Results 3.30.07
Posted by Larry Csonka on 03.31.2007

We were at the ROH show tonight and thought we'd throw everyone a line.

The show opened up with a four way between Chris Hero, Adam Pearce, Matt Sydal & Colt Cabana. There was a lot of comedy and good action all around. Everyone dove onto everyone on the floor which gave Adam Pearce the opportunity to hit Cabana with brass knuckles for the win.

In the second match the debuting Erick Stevens destroyed Alex "Sugarfoot" Payne in about a minute. Look for Stevens to make an impact in ROH after this performance.

Bruno Sammartino came out to give a pro-ROH speech remeniscent of the one he gave at Glory by Honor V. This time however Larry Sweeney, Chris Hero & Tank Toland interupted and challenged Bruno to an arm wrestling contest. When Bruno refused Sweeney threatened violence but Nigel McGuinness made the save. Nigel is now obviously the face of ROH.

Davey Richards lost to Masaki Mochizuki in the next match. As promised the match consisted mostly of stiff kicks. It did not disappoint in that respect.

Jimmy Jacobs and Lacey beat Daizee Haze & BJ Whitmer when Jacobs literally speared Haze out of her shoes and Lacey followed up with an implant DDT. The match was a solid brawl that completely took out the B-section of the crowd's chairs.

In the last match before intermission Jay Briscoe single-handedly defeated Shingo & Naruki Doi for the tag team titles after Mark Briscoes got injured. Mark attempted a shooting star press off the top to the floor and landed awkwardly. He was taken out on a stretcher but showed signs of movement by waving his hand on the way out. Word is that he was moving all of his limbs at the hospital, but we didn't hear anything more. It was a very scary scene and the match went on long after he was hurt, largely to silence from the crowd. After the match, TNA Superstars Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin came out and issued a challenge to the Briscoes for the Tag Team Titles on April 28 in Chicago. Shelley acted like a super dickhead, the way we love him.

The first match after intermission saw Dragon Gate rookie YAMATO defeat Pelle Primeau with some ease. After the match Sweeney's entourage attacked and called out McGuinness, leading to...

Brent Albright defeated Nigel McGuinness with a half nelson suplex after a distraction from Chris Hero. Albright is looking good after the big win.

Homicide defeated Chris Daniels with a roll up. Daniels wrestled heel throughout the match while sporting his new TNA look. Why he worked as a heel confused us as we've heard nothing about a heel turn from him. The match was solid, about on par with their match from a few years back in ROH. After the match, Jim Cornette returned alongside Adam Pearce and Shane Hagadorn and they delivered a beating to Homicide until Colt Cabana and Delirious made the save.

Roderick Strong defeated Jack Evans with the Stronghold after a very fun match. Both guys let it all hang out. It was at least as good as their encounter from FIP but Strong's heel edge gave this match a little more personality.

The main event saw CIMA, Ryo Saito, Dragon Kid and Susumu Yokosuka defeat Austin Aries, Delirious, Claudio Castagnoli & Rocky Romero. The match was full of the insane spots that you'd expect and delivered the excitement promised. No heel turns came from the suspected Castagnoli or Romero, leading these two 411 reviewers to believe that it will be Erick Steven joining the No Remorse Corp tomorrow night.

We had a great night and hope tomorrow will be as fun. Hope everyone is having a great WrestleMania weekend!

Brad Garoon & Jacob Ziegler
