WWE Conference Call: WWE Films, 24/7, DVD Sales, More

WWE held a conference call today to go over their third quarter financial numbers which can be viewed here. Highlights from the call are below.

– Linda McMahon praised the fans and investors for their support during a “period of adversity for our company.”

– Frank Serpe put over WWE 24/7 being available now in 75% of the available video-on-demand homes in America.

– They attributed the 50% decline in video sales this quarter to not releasing any new DVD titles other than PPV titles.

– They are still working on increasing ad revenue on WWE.com and are hiring new staff and redesigning the website.

– The possibilty of running paid-by-promoter international events where a promoter pays WWE for the show and then sells the tickets and promotes the event himself. WWE said they consider these shows on a case-by-case basis.

– The strategy for WWE Films going forward is to focus on direct-to-video releases. Linda said they have three potential straight-to-video projects and one that could go to theaters.

– The Wellness Policy came up. Linda said they have no infractions to report from the time they announced that they would go public with the Wellness Policy to today, when the policy becomes public. She said there are no infractions to report. She added that it takes awhile to get tests back.
