TNA House Show Results – Austin, Texas: 1.10.08

January 11, 2008 | Posted by Larry Csonka

Thanks to Jeff in Austin for sending these results along.

First let me say that if you have the chance to get to a TNA show – GO! D-Lo Brown was at the ringside table for most of the night. He got a nice little cheer when he came out.

Eric Young defeated James Storm. They did the thing from Belton where Earl Hebner joined Eric Young in double teaming Storm. At one point Young was acting as ref and Hebner had Storm in a headlock.

Another funny thing, 10 years later, in Austin and crowd was chanting “You Screwed Bret” each time Hebner came out – At one point he crotch chopped the crowd and another time he said (following a “You screwed Bret” chant) “Yeah I did, so what?” Great stuff.

Awesome Kong (with the Knockout Belt – JB announced that she had won the belt on Monday night) defeated Jackie Moore. Kong is HUGE and she can move.

The Motor City Machine Guns defeated Skipper and Devine (who had the X title with him)

Samoa Joe defeated Christian Cage – Cage hit the frog splash, and the unprettier but Joe won with the Muscle Buster. Crowd was mixed but more pro Cage. And for crying out loud the WWE sign guy was there, with his red hat. Cage didn’t take it but this dude tries to get himself over. And how the heck can he be at so many wrestling shows. I was gonna ask him but he disappeared when it was over.

At intermission you could get a Samoa Joe autograph – don’t know if it was because the crowd was mostly pulling for Cage or what, but Joe was really kind of a jerk to people. I understand he just wrestled, TNA booking sucks, but dude – you’re getting $5 an autograph. Be nice.

Jay Lethal defeated Kaz – good match, lots of comedy. Lethal was way over.

LAX defeated Rock & Rave Infection – Rave bumps like a madman. They could actually be a good tag team. Way better than what they show on iMPACT.

Booker T defeated Robert Roode by DQ when Roode used a chair. Mrs. Brookes had run out and tried to get it away from Roode.

A great show, probably 300-400 people in attendance. JB said they are coming back in the summer. Following the show you could get in the ring with Booker for $20 and get a Polaroid.

Biggest Pops:
Booker T
LAX
Christian Cage

Biggest Heat:
Robert Roode
Lance Hoyt (crowd follows the norm “TRAMP STAMP, TRAMP STAMP”)
James Storm – cheap heat by saying the Giants would beat the Cowboys and then mocking the “Hook ‘em Horns Sign”.
