More Various News: Lashley Update, Big Change in WWE Creative and More
Posted by Larry Csonka on 01.25.2008
Lots of late night news!
- Bobby Lashley's picture and profile have been removed from the Raw superstars page on WWE.com
- WWE and ECW head writer Dave Lagana have parted ways as of today as the WWE let him go. He was informed this morning and the wrestlers have been informed throughout the day. There is no information regarding a replacement, or if the Smackdown creative team will just absorb the ECW booking duties. Lagana had been with the company since 2002, and replaced Paul Heyman in December of 2006 as the head of ECW creative.
- Former American Gladiators announcer Mike Adamle has been signed by WWE and will debut at the Royal Rumble, doing backstage interviews. After that the plan is to have him on the Raw brand.
Now all we need is Larry Zonka, and the ultimate in sports broadcasting, the ZONKASTRATOR!!!

Adamle was a sports anchor here in Chicago. I dont recall him in a sex scandal or something that would make him take a backseat shit job like a interviewer on Raw. Maybe they wil move him to Smackdown as Colorman or ECW when they can Styles? Then ECW would really be dead... Very odd. Great guy, has talent, just seems he's above it...

After all the bad things he has said about the WWE in his columns on 411, I don't think they would ever sign Larry.

Dave Lagana was a horrible writer anyway. Didn't he want either Snitsky or Great Khali to challenge Lashley for the ECW Title at WM23?

Well, so much for any possibly oppositions for Triple H main eventing Wrestlemania this year.

Lashley sucked anyway so it's no big loss. As far as Lagana wanting to use Khali or Snitsky...well, at least someone's trying to do something with them. After all, isn't that what "creative" is for...to find roles for the wrestlers? I'm of the opinion that if you're going to have people on the roster, use them. Find SOMETHING for them to do. If nothing works, then you can toss them but at least try to come up with something before you give them the boot.

The ECW writing really sucked for the last few months. It's obvious Lagana wasn't getting things done, whether he sucked or all his ideas were just being rejected so there was nothing left. Maybe we'll see some actual storyline development in ECW in the future now that this good change has been made.

So if Lashley really is gone from the WWE then now there is more room on the roster for people with actual talent.

Wow, Mike Adamle is 58 years old already. Thats crazy. Cant wait for the Rumble though:)

Mike Adamle should be on American Gladiators not Raw

Thats the one area where WWE truly is ass-backwards. Creative can't find something for wrestler A to do, so they fire the wrestler. How about firing your crappy creative team??? It's their job to come up with something for the talent, yet they can't manage it - that sounds like incompetence to me. Mick Foley, Jake Roberts (assuming he's clean), Paul Heyman, Jim Cornette and Raven....that's your booking team if you want good storylines. WWE has the money to make this happen, yet they persist with soap opera shitty writers. Stupid.

Lashley didn't suck that bad. Well, he was pretty bad on the mic, but his problem was that he was brought up to the main-event scene too soon. he wasn't ready to be ECW champ, he should of spent more time on Smackdown in the mid-card.

assuming Jake Roberts is clean is one hell of an assumption

Jake's in rehab still, is in good spirits and actually sounds good again.
he's looking at positives and really wants to change for the better.
he knows his life's gone buy and he would rather bre remembered now as the guy that lost it and saved himself than the guy that lost it...
good luck to him, i can't wait for him to get out of rehab and i hope to god he stays clean!
