Latest Details On Hogan & Bischoff's New Wrestling "Promotion"
Posted by Ashish on 02.21.2008

The new wrestling "promotion" Hulk Hogan has been talking about starting lately isn't really a wrestling promotion. Hogan and Bischoff have pitched an idea to several TV networks about a reality show that focuses on celebrities training and performing at pro-wrestlers.

CMT is currently the frontrunner to air the show. Jason Hervey, Eric Bischoff's production partner, was handling some pre-production for the show last week.

The other recent statements Hogan has been making, trying to make this reality show seem like a legitimate wrestling promotion, were probably said as a way for Hogan to get WWE's attention in hopes of getting a spot on the WrestleMania card.

The Bischoff-Hervey production company is behind the Scott Baio reality show on VH1.

Isn't Hogan presence in the Hall of Fame enough? The "E" should have stopped with that. What does he want, I used to be a Hogan fan but now with the problems with his family and his inability to get out of the public spotlight, I am done.

What a joke, what benefit can the "e" really gain from having Hogan on the show.

Oh, that crazy Hogan!

So Bischoff is behind Scott Baio rising from the child-star grave. And the last peice of the puzzle falls into place.
Wrestlers involved with "reality shows". Doesnt quite roll off the tongue does it?

So...we have a choice of believing Hulk Hogan or "PWInsider"...Um, there's a reason why it's called a "dirt sheet" site...

If I can seperate Chris Benoit the wrestler from Chris Benoit the murderer....I can do the same for Hogan.

Don't mess with Baio. If you didn't get the memo, CHARLES IS IN CHARGE, PUNK.

Oh Dear God No!!! This just sounds like the crappy Celebrity Wrestling show that was shown over here in the UK. The show was abysmal, and I think only lasted about 3 weeks.

CMT??? Isn't that country music channel?

So what? Hogan spins thing constantly. I'd believe an objective source over him anyday.

yup, CMT = country music television. it is kinda good in a way. if they get the deal, then they can show Kathy Griffin and Verne Troyer training to be 'wrestlers' between episodes Reba and Dixie Chick videos.

kill me now

They've done Celebrity Wrestling in the UK. It sucked eleventy billion shades of ass.

It was pretty much Celebrity Gladiators and was presented by Rowdy Roddy Piper.

I'd still rail Kate Lawler hard

Hulk Hogan is awesome. All you Hogan haters are just a bunch of pathetic pimple faced geeks whose only contact with the female anatomy was as an infant sucking your momma's teet. Just shut up already, I mean we get it. How many times are you going to say the exact same thing. Nobody cares about ROH. Accept it and move in, losers.

Really? Really now Hogan? "Celebrity Wrestling"? Really? Really now?

A good wrestling reality show is being aired in Canada right now, and is called... Wrestling Reality... That's all we need, as it's a damn good show...

If they can get a wrestling show on SciFi, they can get in on Country Music Television.

Yay revelant discussion! Yay insults we all heard on the school bus in junior high school!

Seriously, leave discussions to thinking human beings. Thanks.

Guest#0858 I believe most of the people who hate Hogan are not ROHbots, but are true WWE fans. I'm a WWE fan and I can't stand Hogan on my TV. I love how people use this comment section to bag on people for being pro wrestling fans when you ARE A PRO WRESTLING FAN YOURSELF! Hogan could do good for the WWE if he'd lay down for younger talent and put them over (i.e. Ric Flair) but he refuses (i.e. Randy Orton, Shawn Michaels...not that HBK needed the rub, but he still shouldn't have had to lay down for the big bald jackass).

dat show sounds stpid. i rather see hulk kick all those famose ppls asses. hogan shud be at mania. he can kill kali an umanga. he can hulk up an bodyslam all wrestlers.

i am not a ROHbot, i loathe TNA, i don't like ECWWE, i hate all the mexican jumping beans and the japanese no selling rice burners. and i hate what Hogan has become, and have hated him since WM6.

i love the WWE, even if i dislike much of the current product (FUCK CARLITO) but i would rather be ass raped by 50 Belizian prisioners who have each spent 10 years in solitary with razored dildoes than see hogan 'wrestle' again.

in a backstage capacity? sure, i guess...but never in the ring again.

Screw that! Bring back Hogans Knows Best, this season we would see Nick go to jail, the Hogan divorce with Linda getting all the money and banging young dudes, Brooke banging the same dudes Linda did and hopefully becoming a crazy Britney. And Terry going broke trying to figure out ways to pay his wife money and money to the kid's family whose life Nick ruined. Now thats a REALITY show, not the bullshit that was on for the last few seasons.

looking on the bright side:

if there really has to be a reality show about celebrities trying to wrestle, there could be far worse people running it than bischoff.

Boy, all those people who talked about how they thought Hogan was legit this time and how his "promotion" would be great for the world of wrestling and give all these new people and disillusioned talents a chance sure look stupid now, don't they? Have people STILL not realized that Hogan is a pathological liar and scumbag and has been for years?! Even beyond this "starting his own promotion" bull, he's made outrageous and blatantly false proclamations for over a decade. How can people still fall for him? Hogan could swear on a stack of Bibles, Torahs and Korans in the middle of the United Nations and I still wouldn't believe a word that came out of his mouth.

The comment section has a handful of intelligent posters, the rest are third graders or illiterate douche bags. Having said that, I guess we all have the right to express our individual and unique opinion. Here is mine: Some of you folks would be better served by turning of the wrestling and taking some typing lessons. There are some who might also want to install a spell checker. The grammar and punctuation, thats where it gets a bit shady. That's harder to correct. Hmmmm, I guess wrestling really does make some people brain dead.

Hulk Hogan is a legend and one of the top three most beloved wrestlers of all time (the others are Ric Flair and Steve Austin), If anybody should be running a new Indy Company it should be Him (or Flair or Austin but they're more loyal to vince). No offense but The Hulkster built his career on being invincible, he's put over lots of younger talent, Like when Russo took over WCW, Hulk was getting beaten but the younger guys wern't becoming stars, He put over Goldberg, Ultimate Warrior, Paul Wight, Undertaker, and Yokonuza, In Title matches, and lets not forget losing to the Rock at Wrestlemania!

A win over Hogan would have been great for Randy Ortons career but the Hulkster what back for a breif amount of time for the fans to get a feel good nestolga moment, Not to put over a guy who he wasn't certain could carry the company.
The Reason why Orton's legend killing works for him is because it makes Randy out as an evil heel who'll do anything to claim victories over great wrestlers. HBK is a good guy, what would him beating a legend with known bad knees do for him, Nothing! it would just be another acolade for king to mention as he comes down the ramp, Hogan beating HBK on the other hand made fans think that Hogan still had it, which helps "One More match" seem more likely. making Hogan more marketable.

This reality show could be really useful, but only if the Hulkster can get young guys to show up as opposed to the aging has-beens who populate other reality shows. If Hulkster can get publicity with this, he could turn it into a legit school and eventually promotion. It all depends on how well the show goes.

Hogan can't help but be in the spotlight, unless he does major hairstyle changes and absolutly lets himself out of shape, He's Hulk Hogan and is so recognizable on the street that he can barely enjoy his vacations. He failed to set up a backup career for when he retired and now is paying the price, unlike Flair and Taker who have real estate and loan sharking, he's decided to cash in on his surefire fame and push his daughter's career (sadly I don't think she can carry a reality show on her own and still appeal to the marks who watch the show to see what Hulk is up to these days) With his reality show. He's not an attation hog, but it's the only life he knows how to profit from.

How about a show where Hulk Hogan goes around the country and gets his ass kicked by children? I'd pay to see that!

Okay how about he goes around looking up other wrestlers from his era (yes your era is long over Terry) and picks fights with them. A Hogan Vs Warrior Warrior Warrior street fight would be funny. Then find that crazy Iron Sheik and lay the smack down.

Didn't WWE already do this? They also had a recent one called the Bussey Bunch, which wasn't that bad a show, but only lasted two episodes.

Hogan is a liar. This "new promotion" was just a way for him to get WWE's attention so that he can bury someone at WrestleMania so he can get a paycheck to compensate for that divorce. Even if the promotion was legit, he'd probably hold everyone down in favor of himself. He's been lying like this for years.
