Various News: Chyna’s New Show, New MITB Qualifier and More

Who won their way into the Money in the Bank match last night at a WWE house show?
- At last night's Smackdown/ECW house show in Oshkosh, Wisconsin MVP defeated Jamie Noble. The match was announced as a "Money in the Bank Qualifying" match.
- Former WWE performer Joanie "Chyna" Lauer has signed a deal to appear on the new NBC show, "Celebrity Circus." The show is set to debut on June 11th and will feature Lauer and other celebrities training with circus performers. The celebrities will then perform with the TV viewers voting on the winners.
- The UK Sun is giving away tickets to meet Steve Austin for a special screening of the Condemned. You can get more information on the give away here.
- Mike Mooneyham shares reader memories of Ric Flair here.
What? So no US or IC title matches at Wrestlemania? Matt and MVP just becoming two faces in the crowd instead of facing each other and Matt getting his revenge?

Chyna... circus... it's just to easy.

What the Fuck WWE? God MVP should be facing Matt Hardy @ Wrestlemania for the United States Championship!!! Now I guess they'll throw Matt in the match now.

Hmm.. Well, Hardy and MVP haven't had any on-screen interaction since, when, Survivor Series? Wrestlemania would be the perfect blow-off for the two, but injuries on Hardy's side have definitely made than untenable.
I'm all in favor of more singles matches on the WM card, but MVP wrestling anybody else -- at this point -- wouldn't make sense. I think MITB is still Jeff Hardy's to lose, but I think MVP's inclusion makes it a little bit more interesting. MVP is a future World-level champion no doubt, but I don't know if it's something that happens in 2008 or 2009.

My guess is that Matt Hardy is gonna KILL MVP in the MITB match, and then we will get a nice little build up for Backlash.

So, it's a rip off of Britain's Cirque de celebrity thingy?

got another 65 months or so b4 US title gets defended...he just defended it against batista! so hes in no hurry to do so for wrestlemania!

Why not AT LEAST have all of these perfunctury 'qualifying' matches on television? I guess when the 'qualifying' matches feature challengers such as Snitsky, Val Venis, and Jamie Noble, it defeats the entire purpose of even having to qualify for their opponents. Just goes to show how buried much of the WWE roster is at all times. There are only a handful of guys who the fans even view as legitimate at this point, and they all have matches already. So, you just take the few 'over' guys left on the roster and throw em all in a match together.

the last MITB match on Raw saw Car-fucking-lito qualify...that ruined the value of MITB anyway so why worry about it?
at this point, they could toss Hornswaggle, Dobby the House Elf and a rolled up sock in the match and it could not mean any less.

I was thinking the same thing as Spike. But I also share everyone else's disappointment over no U.S. title match at WM. I mean I've already accepted the IC title never being defended at a WM again, or at all at this point. But goddamn, Matt and MVP should have their blow-off match at 'Mania. Oh well.

Bitch bitch bitch bitch. Wah wah wah wah, boo hoo. Life isn't perfect. Find a better hill to die on, my loser friends.

Right? Carlito of all people. That's horrible. I doubt he will but John Morrison should be included. But why give guys with talent a spot to shine when you've got Carlito to stink up the joint.
Posted By: Derrick (Guest) on March 09, 2008 at 04:25 PM
Ppl...MVP is not gonna face Matt Hardy...he is not going to be US Champ headin into mania...
Batista is gonna take that title off his hands on the next edition of smackdown, and MVP will WIN the MoneyInTheBank ladder match!
Posted By: Eyal (Guest) on March 09, 2008 at 04:37 PM
Eyal = Epic fail.
Maybe Matt is just not ready to come back properly. I'm sure they still plan for him to get the title, I just hope when the feud re-starts the heat is still in place after all these months.

Ok, this was a house show people. they put that title on the match to make it seem important. MVP vs Big Dave on smackdown is no DQ, so Matt Hardy will interfere, than they'll have a match at mania.

what would i like to see?... i WOULD like to see MVP *AND* Matt Hardy make it to the MITB and old school feud that shit... have Hardy just go absolutely INSANE on him, until they spill to the back and something huge/crazy happens, with Matt coming out on top to set up the rest of the feud for a month or two or three to FINALLY get closure on it

They fucking failed! I was wanting the MVP vs Hardy US Title Match! NO BUYS! EPIC FAIL!
Posted By: Captain_Snackpipe (Guest) on March 09, 2008 at 05:54 PM
Ease up on the bookers, fellas. I'm sure they wanted an MVP/Matt Hardy US title match at 'Mania, but Matt probably stubbed his toe and will be out another six months.

Why do so many people hate Carlito? I think that people who hate Carlito are... not cool. Hahaha... sorry.
Carlito only sucks because Vince and the WWE don't let anyone who's not on steroids actually perform. Is the wellness policy what they base their matches on? What happened to MR.Kennedy's title opportunity? He got of the roids. That's what. Shame on you Stephanie McMahon. Shame on You!!!

I want it to be known I now officially mark for Rolled Up Sock! Wooooooo!
Posted By: YouStayClassy (Guest) on March 09, 2008 at 06:53 PM
I don't agree with the complaints of Carlito being in Money in the Bank. I liked his ladder match with Jeff Hardy.
Posted By: William (Guest) on March 09, 2008 at 07:09 PM
A celebrity circus reality show? Are you fucking kidding me?
Posted By: John Johnson (Guest) on March 09, 2008 at 07:21 PM
Nice one MP, you really make yourself sound both intelligent and smart mark-ish with comments like that, well done sir!
Posted By: The Cultural Comissioner (Guest) on March 09, 2008 at 08:08 PM
I don't give a rat's ass what it sounds like. The point is, it is extremely unhealthy to go into convulsions every time you disagree with something WWE does. And it's even more unhealthy to disagree with practically everything the WWE does. Is that OK with you, Commish? Or does that fall under some other label that you shall bestow on me from on high? Please, I'm just dying to know if I'm a "smart mark", or maybe a "dumb fuck" like the rest of the commenters.

Carlito sucks because he is a talentless douchebag, who has done NOTHING with his opportunity in the WWE. holy shit, he got dressed down and then given a rub by Ric Flair and has taken that ball and...what? nothing. he spat a few more apples in a schtick that no one gave a shit about and has become a WWE paperweight. you can't blame anyone but Carlito for his lack of effort and lack of talent. it is all well and good to say 'vince mcmahon, vince mcmahon, blah blah blah' but vince mcmahon does not issue out charisma...which carlito has none, or drive...which carlito has none...nor does vince mcmahon even reward those who are total lazy fucks.
i can't blame vince mcmahon for carlito's lack of passion for the business he is in.
so there.

Darth, if Carlito proves he belongs in MITB will you change your tune?
Posted By: William (Guest) on March 09, 2008 at 10:02 PM
No MP, what is unhealthy is how you burst a blood vessal everytime someone has an opinion different to yours. Opinions are like arseholes my friend...everybody has one. Voice yours mate, just don't get on your high horse about everyone elses.

Yeah, Chyna is going to be the strong man.
Posted By: Mickey Yarber (Guest) on March 09, 2008 at 10:28 PM
Chyna stomped by a crazy elephant = Ratings.
Posted By: Krystof (Guest) on March 09, 2008 at 11:11 PM
William, if Carlito can prove that he deserves a place near the top, i would give him a chance.
unfortunately, for him to win me over, he has one hell of a hill to climb. i don't think he really gives a shit enough to actually work for his position but if at any point he actually starts to work for a living, i would give him a shot.
hell, DUBYA got a second term, so miracles do happen...well...miracle in DUBYA's case is a very subjectively used term, but you get the idea.

Carlito is one of the most successfully business for wwe in company history and Chyna is one of the most sexy divas ever been in WWE. I understand how jealious people that always talk negative about Chyna & Carlito when they are successfully in company
Posted By: Paul-Will (Guest) on March 10, 2008 at 08:13 AM
Matt probably isn't in condition to fight MVP at Wrestlemania, and 2 weeks of build isn't enough to make it a worthy match of Wrestlemania.
Ease up, you douche bags. Backlash is almost always better on a whole than Wrestlemania anyway, in my eyes, and the match will probably happen there with a GOOD build.
Posted By: Banz (Guest) on March 10, 2008 at 10:42 AM
Does this mean that Batista will win the US title.
