Mayweather/Big Show Segment Nearly Turns into Legit Brawl
Posted by Larry Csonka on 03.11.2008

- The big brawl during the Mayweather/Big Show Segment on Raw last night ended up becoming as close to a legit brawl as you can get. The segment as a whole was planned, but according to WWE sources several members of Mayweather's posse went into business for themselves trying to show how tough they were. WWE wrestlers fought back, but most if it was lost due to the camera angles.

- According to PWInsider.com, one wrestler said that Mayweather's crew, "Got their asses handed to them." Another wrestler mentioned that, "The company was 10-seconds away from having a legit beat down take place on TV." Shane McMahon was knocked down during the brawl, and afterwards there was a lot of tension between the two sides.

Well, what else can you expect from glorified thugs?

And for these antics Mayweather's being paid 20 million? Hardly worth the money.

Where's JBL when you need him?!

I hope Paul goes into business for himself against 50

Are you kidding me? Does anybody really think that this was a "legit" brawl? If nothing else it shows that the build to this feud has been reasonably effective...it's nice that they're trying to convince us that people are "going into business for themselves" but I'm sure it was all planned that way.

I would love to see Floyd´s posse getting their ass kicked.
I dont think they have enough respect for the wrestlers.
But I must say Im enjoying all this. This segment brought this whole Floyd Vs. Big Show right on track after last weeks horrible segments.

Im getting interested how this will play out. One thing that really makes me enjoy this is that Floyd isnt a pussy and wont do stuff. He is not afraid to atleast take a bump or something.
I hope he eats a chokeslam at Wrestlemania.

And thank god they finally turned Big Show face and Floyd heel. We all love to boo Floyd!

Legit brawl? I doubt it. I really cant see this angle doing well. Mayweather freezes on the mic too much and no one really cares. $20 mil? I bet he clears $2-3.

You don't do that to Shane O mac

Posted By: Matt P (Guest)  on March 11, 2008 at 06:33 AM

The cynic in me calls bullshit! WWE just hyping up the worked/shoot aspect of the angle. Very effective though.

Wow, anyone else 400 times more interested now?

Just let them go at it... give the low card guys something to do...

Stupid ass "POSSE" get rid of them boys, and replace them with indy guys that will bump without having to prove how tough they are. If you are "tough" you wouldnt need a fucking posse.

It's just like the No Limit Soldiers vs. the West Texas Rednecks all over again.

It would have been a hoot seeing Bob Holly and Big Daddy V chopping the bacon grease off those fat-bastard leeches.

FMM Jr. did a much better promo in front of the live crowd. He played off the "What?" retard chants damn near perfectly. If he ever had to retire from boxing, he'd be a good heel heat-generating corner man for some wrestler.

you're kidding right? none of the wqrestlers would have fought back? So a bunch of 250 to 300 Lb dudes would have just got beat up and wouldn't have fought back because of a 140lb boxer. You're a retard.

No way this is legit. It's nice to see that people here are buying into it...as that's the intent. But seriously...

gee, what do u expect when u get 10 niggers together, for them to follow the rules??? never bet on black

Pacman Mayweather, I wonder if they are going to shoot someone next week.

Posted By: OD (Guest)  on March 11, 2008 at 09:31 AM

I wonder how much of that near-legit stuff had to do with Big Show's words hitting a little too close to home. He basically flat-out called Mayweather's "Posse" a bunch of dogs milking him for money to be his friends. That comment, even if planned, had to hurt. I think his "Professional Friends" were a bit offended.

I'd love to see Bob Holly or someone who's known to be extra stiff in the ring get their hands on Mayweathers and/or any of his posse.

Posted By: Kristian (Guest)  on March 11, 2008 at 10:07 AM

That would have been interesting to see, there's plenty of wrestlers who are legit tough guys.

Although I think it's unprofessional for someone to start up a fight with the wrestlers instead of just going along with the show.

Fortunately, it came out great on TV, so all's well that ends well.

I believe that it started to get real. Did anybody notice who was at the frontline though? BOBCORE!

At least they have figured out that Mayweather should be the heel in this fued.
I don't see this fight happening a Wrestlmania. The "bump" Floyd took was carefully planned so that bodybuilders would gently catch him. Floyd would risk is September payday with DelaHoya, or his career for that matter getting hurt at WM with legit bumps.
This injury angle provides an out where Floyd could possibly find a surrogate to fight for him. That's my take. There will be no WM fight, and the 20million $ figure was a ruse for media attention.

I think Floyd came off looking like a big pussy. Show takes a punch to the nose and bleeds and just gets mad. Floyd gets thrown out of the ring, cries and runs to the back like a little bitch.

Whoever screens these comments should be fired. Seriously. Who let Mark "I love the word 'nigger' Fuhrman post?

I laughed my ass off when Shane Mcmahon got knocked over. Serves him right for paying Floyd the money. Shane and Floyd would make a great heel team. Both BIACTHES!!!

Bob Holly vs. The Giant Black Dude, I'd pay to see it

I hope Big Show breaks Mayweather's mongoloid neck

Add that match to Wrestle Mania. Posse Vs. WWE.

Posted By: Sam (Guest)  on March 11, 2008 at 01:04 PM

The brawl at the end looked good. And, I had to wonder if the two posses were getting into a legit fight. So, that's good TV. And, FMM running away to the back. It made it look like a legit injury. So, got to give the WWE credit for some good story telling. But, I just can't buy the whole angle. Fighter vs boxer has been done before and it's just too hard to believe Show & FMM will have a real fight at WM XXIV.

if you look at the vid again you can see some of the uys keeping shane from going upfront almost likre they al protecting him. THe wwe should book JBL,Bobcore vs Mayweather's posse

have finlay, jbl and holly v the posse, by posse i mean anyone who has ever been part of a posse with tinkerbell, sayin that i think it wud be a bit unfair/uneven sides-does wwe really need three ppl to take care of business hahahaha

"Bob Holly vs. The Giant Black Dude, I'd pay to see it

This does as well. I guess the racists are coming out in full force.

Now there's a contest for WrestleMania: Giant Black Posse Dude vs Big Daddy V in a PIE ON A POLE MATCH. Whoever climbs the pole gets the pie and eats it and after 30 minutes whoever eats the most pies wins. ..What? No, my name is not Russo! I swear!

Well, it'll be more entertaining then Mayweather taking the softest bumps possible and then beating Show at Mania. We all know its gonna happen. Vince never puts his boys over the celebs (Cena/K-Fed, LT/Bam Bam, even back to Fralic/Studd) although at least at WM II he let WRESTLERS win the battle royal. But you think Mayweather's gonna lose? Show will tear him apart legit, but this isn't gonna be legit. And its a shame because as everybody pointed out all the WWE guys are the REAL toughest men, not the "posse" or a guy who had 39 fights in his pro life.

No one would be playing any race cards if it hadn't almost turned into crips vs. bloods on Raw. Hooray for gang mentality!

Posted By: Steve307 (Guest)  on March 11, 2008 at 08:44 PM

I'd pay good money to see William Regal, Finlay, Hardcore Holly, Umaga, and generally some of the tougher members of the WWE roster fight Mayweather's crew.

Posted By: Matt Eli (Guest)  on March 11, 2008 at 09:19 PM

careful Matt Eli...apparently the political correctness police are out in full force on this one. your use of the term 'crew' could be viewed as racist, especially since Mayweather's 'associates' are black. and you know that anytime anyone says anything about blacks it is racist...even if the people calling you racist do not know if you yourself are black, white, mongoloid or even republican.

Posted By: Darth Mortis (Guest)  on March 12, 2008 at 10:24 AM

actually...they probably already know if you are republican.

the inability to string together coherent sentences, using 9/11 as punctuation and believing that the economy isn't nosediving into recession are the most obvious signs of republicanism.
